I'm from Luxembourg...not very glam but I don't know any others in ED

Regardless of what you call your kids they will no doubt grow to dislike it or shorten it to something or even change it all together to a nickname no one can quite point to where it came from. I myself had the misfortune of being born abroad, and to make sure I didn't "stand out" too much in a french school my parents gave me a local name (as if that was going to hide the fact that I only spoke English and so spent the 1st month of school crying because everyone else "talks funny"). Anyway, on reaching my teens we moved back to England and I was bullied the hell out of for having a weird sounding name...i would have given anything to be Anne or Mary or even better a Kate!

Unfortunately no matter how well you guard your children, tragic incidents like this will continue to happen. I don't think leaving your kids alone at home is a very savvy thing to do given the times we live in but it isn't for anyone else to place blame. As has been said, I am sure they have blamed themselves enough. Does anyone else remember the little girl who was snatched from her bath while the family was in the house with her? I just think that shows no matter how careful you are, these twisted individuals will take any opportunity.

I always see lovely men sat out in the sun along LL on my way home but by the time I get down there they have gone....where are they hiding? What are the men of ED classing as lovely ladies? (descriptions of clothing, hair and general look please!)

Ok cool bananas I will call them and beg! Kick off at 7:45 as far as I know, anyone betting on the game? Any last minute predictions?

I would like a late night venue, but maybe we could shake up the Bishop/Black Cherry night-life a bit by having wine at reasonable prices? As unlikely as it looks, there are people living on LL who don't earn a mint,lounge in coffee shops all day and would also like to enjoy a few after work drinkies without putting myself into poverty. I'm quite keen on having something a bit more up beat than the trendy wendy "we love 1970's wallpaper and dark wood" stuff that has leaked in from soho...like Tiki bar.

You can always pick up fish from the seacow wet and cook it yourself, plus a few of teh grocers at the top of LL are open till 8:30. I would still support longer opening hours though....maybe the medical centres should take note too (though I know this will never happen)...I hate trying to justify to my boss once every three weeks why I need to leave early again just to get my prescription renewed!

Tried all the on-line stuff, applied for the FA ballot to see England v Brazil...and yet nothing! Well nothing affordable anyway...what happended to ?30 tickets? Going to watch the match at my mates in Acton. He just bought a house so we thought we would christen it with some beers pizza and footy. How bout you? xx

I'm desperate to go and see Liverpool play a football game, but all these ebay savvy buggers keep snapping up tickets and making a profit...no doubt to come and buy a house in East Dulwich where I will be forever renting. So on my note of self pity, if any fellow East Dulwichians know how to wangle a premiership ticket or have such an item and don't want me to sell my belongings to pay for it, please get in touch! I would even throw in a drink at the Bishop (which in itself costs a fortune) xx
