There have been terrapins in the Japanese Garden pond for years and years. Not sure, personally, about the main pond, but sure someone else will comment. Do you mean this pond or the larger 'main' pond?

Hi there - yes I had! I'm sorry to hear about all that upheaval but, having been on one of your excellent walks, am extremely glad you are still doing them. I'll be taking your advice and heading out east when I can. Such a treasure the Green Chain. It sounds as though TfL and The Ramblers might be a good mix to manage/preserve it? HP
I really hope it doesn't close - I absolutely love the picturehouse in ED! Just a note for some of you, there are ways to get cheaper tickets. On Mondays they do discounted tickets and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays you can get 2 for 1 cinema tickets with Meerkat movies. You can also turn 50p of Tesco vouchers into 1.50 to use with Picturehouse - every little helps :) Also love it! Membership's good value! HP
KK - appreciate that. It was a 'generic' response - in the hope that someone/anyone might act/ have acted on the post and gone to check later and taken cat to vet. I've done this on past occasions as have others. FWIW I've PM'd Neighbourhood Vets with a link to this post incase anyone missing a cat gets in touch with them. HP

christ - please tell me someone took cat to vets for chip check/ hopefully contact potential owners or knocked local doors? At least gives them some closure rather than not knowing. Would go check myself but Covid ridden. HP
And more on Elephant Park: Not Berkeley but showing how plans drift... https://www.35percent.org/posts/2022-10-03-elephant-park-the-final-squeeze/ Sadly 'affordable' usually reduced and very little is social rent.
And Southwark Council's response last November outlining concerns: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/news/2022/nov/southwark-council-response-to-published-plans-for-the-aylesham-centre-in-peckham
Just out of curiosity Dave Is that purely speculation or based on evidence of Berkeley Homes failing to provide the required percentage of affordable homes in other developments" As DKH Billy points out 35% of a development is better then no new homes at all. More on Berkeley here. They haven't got the best record in delivering on council affordable home targets: First is from 2018 https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/sep/03/berkeley-calls-affordable-housing-targets-unviable-as-chairman-earns-174m https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/aug/02/poorer-children-warned-off-playing-in-shared-spaces-in-london-development
Thanks for posting. Southwark sent out a link to the proposed licensing agreement to Friends of Peckham Rye Park. Unfortunately the link didn't work with Southwark suggesting they'd need a couple of weeks for changes. Will this will delay the consultation end date(?) Also - fwiw from the southwark page the email link is [email protected] using subject title ‘GALA Stakeholder meeting’.
The peace vigil mentioned above for Kalabe Legesse is being organised by St Antony & St Silas and led by the vicar as the common/park is in the parish. Good of you to look out for the cat! Looks very glad to be indoors/ being looked after. Sad no microchip. Probably not neutered then(?) and if a male might have wandered and got lost or be a stray? SEL Rescue is a lovely rescue in East Dulwich and might be able to advise? https://www.facebook.com/groups/5352650451481750 HP
