  1. I fear Joeleg is spot on on this Interesting demographic in attendance.
  2. "Lads"
  3. Cheers - I've heard that they are really expensive. Do you mind me asking what you paid?
  4. As per usual I'm horribly disorganised. I currently have no central heating so need to sort this ASAP. There's no gas supply so it electric for me. Any decent recommendations? Thanks in advance
  5. If you've ever crossed London Bridge between 8 and 9 on a weekday morning you might understand why.
  6. Those barriers on London Bridge sit in the cycle lane. They cut have put them on the pavement given how wide it is.
  7. I don't think it's due to people being lazy. If that were the case items would just be in the bin. Maybe some people just can't there when the shops are open?

Ha! Whoops....
  9. Cycling to work is great. You'll love it I only started 2 years ago but I'm addicted now. It's a great way to start the day. Just take it steady and learn to build your confidence. If you don't want to a junction on a bike get off and use the tragic lights like a pedestrian.
  10. 4.8 :)
  11. Binkylilyput is correct That corner is ridiculous. It's often safer to cut the corner as more often than not people are stood in the cycle lane either crossing the road or coming on to it. It's a terrible design and a recipe for disaster. I would never cut the corner if it's not safe to do so. Similarly if you are heading north and use the path as it is intended your bike is at the wrong angle for crossing the road. You then end up blocking the access to the road for other bikes and pedestrians. It's just a really really bad design.
  12. I had no idea that section of Rye Lane was a cycle path until I started to cycle to work. It definitely needs to be marked so it's clearer.
  13. I've now heard about and witnessed another nasty bike crash as you come over the pedestrian/cyclist crossing approaching Peckham platform. The tiled area is lethal so take care. I saw a fell come off this morning, stopped to help him and fell off myself. I will personally be pushing my bike across that section until everywhere thaws out.
  14. I got mine from the place next to Forest Hill station. Really pleased with it They had some left when I walked past the other day
  15. If you get a tiny parisienne scoop (melon baller) you can. It would take a long time though
  16. That's awful -sorry to hear but I'm glad he's okay. I cycle up Peckham Rye towards Nunhead on my commute & would be an easy target as I'm normally knackered by the time I get to the top.
  17. Someone dumped a massive bag of garden waste outside my front door the other day. It was so big it was impossible to move. There are always fridges and freezers dumped in our street too. Really annoys me
  18. Mine are back tonight too. How strange!
  19. Mine have gone too.
  20. I just feel as though it's yet more expense on something that should be able to travel 5 metres down the hallway or in to the room above. I will invest if the extenders to see it improves. I've nothing to plug an Ethernet cable in to.
  21. Yes I've done that. It's a bit better but not good enough unfortunately
  22. I've been with BT for the last year and have to say I've been very disappointed with the service. For general internet browsing, etc it's fine - if you're in the room that the hub is. The rest of the (1 bedroom!) flat is attrocious. I've changed the frequency and have done all of their recommendations, yet 5 metres down the hallway the service is appalling. Their hotspot service is better in my living room than the actual service in my flat. I can now renew my contract or take the business elsewhere but I'm wondering if this is just an issue I will continue have or if it's a BT thing. Their advert about it being the most far reaching braodband is quite frankly laughable!! Does anyone else have a similar experience/any recommendations?
  23. That bit at the bottom of the lane is ridiculous. It just doesn't flow, which makes it tempting to cut the corner. As has been said, the "cycle lane" itself needs marking out and also repairing. I had no idea you could cycle there until I actually started riding. I'd happily walk along the pavement/path without realising. Understand it needs sorting, but I'd be better if they listened to calls to them re men in cars deliberately driving towards cyclists threatening to knock them down!!
  24. Really sorry to hear that. What type of lock did you have? I'm paranoid about leaving my bike locked anywhere.

He was alone and he wasn't laughing when he clearly saw I was terrified. Was it solo drivers when it happened to you?
