Stolen fishing equipment - please keep an eye out
Annasfield posted a topic in Lost, Found or Stolen
Last night our car was broken in to and the contents of the boot stolen (just off Blythe Vale) at the Catford end of Forest Hill. Inside were some bags of fishing gear. Contents included, fishing reels, bait, general fishing equipment. The majority of the contents were in two large green canvass bags. Much of it of little value if sold separately , but of course of great value to the owner. If anyone sees any items that have been dumped or offered for sale, please can you let me know. We’ve of course reported this to the police. -
Another call cyclist here (I use Rye Lane 2x a day) Agree I?ve felt safer when it was buses rather people. I?ve had so many near misses with pedestrians. I love the diversity of Rye Lane, but it really is filthy & the rubbish strewn everywhere is grim. Really needs sorting. I don?t know why, but in my head the pedestrianisation made it worse. Don?t even get me started on the glass.

Had the Moderna about 10 days ago. Sore arm but otherwise all good.

I?ve used this app the whole way through and have been asked to go for tests. I actually caught Covid a few weeks ago. Have made a point of thoroughly reporting my symptoms.

I?d contribute if you need to purchase one. I can see there are some secondhand ones on Facebook marketplace. It?s incredible what you are doing. -

Might do that route tomorrow. I worry about being too far from home in case of being in breach of the rules though?

I thought about this too. Wondered if when I collected my meal I could take my own tubs. Hate all the waste we create. -
Rye Lane cycle lane confusion and danger

Rye Lane is getting worse. Not helped by the signage being covered in stickers. -
Greek olive for me from Kalamata You can get a brand called Iliada from Sainsbury?s and it?s pretty good The best I?ve ever had however is when I visit my friend in Athens. She had a massive drum of extra Virgin olive oil under her sink. It?s from her mother in law?s olive trees and really doesn?t get any better. I always bring some home. P

I?ve been paranoid about my pannier for a while now. I?ve an old ski lock so have been locking it to my frame. It?s horribke feeling vulnerable. :( -
Warning - Forest Hill Road/Piermont Green
Annasfield replied to Mrs Y's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We were walking to Nunhead Cemetery earlier today and stopped for a drink at the Ivy House. There were two people on a moped driving up and down and eyeballing pedestrians, you just knew there were up to no good. I was going to report them but the last time I called the non emergency number I gave up after 35 mins of waiting. That was after someone mounted the pavement on a moped and case straight for us. -
Any recommended cycle routes from SE London to Epsom
Annasfield replied to Annasfield's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Attempted this on Sunday. I live in Forest Hill so took a route via Croydon. Managed to go wrong and realised once I?d gone all the way up and down the other side of a massive hill. Gave up in the end! Think I need a garmin! Ha Will look at that app. Cheers! -

Thanks, going to try it out today -
All for it and have been involved the Spirit of Shankly debate around it. My friend lost his brother at Hillsborough. He calls it safer standing.
