How can you find out which other houses share your drains?
Kalamiphile replied to Ginster's topic in The Lounge
We got a map of our drainage system from the council and were able to identify which boundary the external drain was coming from. -
I was told by agents after a number of investors had viewed and not made offers that they are looking for 10%
-
My flat has been on for 10 weeks, regular viewings, very low price, needs work, no offers. The agents have come up with new reasons each week as to why they think it isnt selling, all of which they knew at valuation, which has gone from 150000 to 'hoping' to get you 130000. About to take it off as from what they say buyers are expecting too much.

Such an interesting thread. Mine were in bed at 7pm in primary, then 8 and at 13 years of age, 9pm and allowed to read for 1/2 hour! As I come through Peckham at night I have wondered about all the children, quite small some of them, that are up and in the nail bars/hair dressers at 10.30 at night. There was an interesting programme on beeb 1 last week showing how some children allowed to stay up late friday and saturday can hardly function on monday morning. The tag line of the programme was ' 3 weeks teaching time lost to low level disruption in class'. This was in primary school, cannot imagine what it is like at secondary level.

10 month old still waking at 4am for feed
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you all for your ideas and experiences. It all sounds so exhausting, I know in my memory it was but like birth pain, have actualy forgotten it (until i do the 4am feed that is!!) Poor girl is so tired with working and caring for beanbag on her own, buggies on buses, trying to get shopping every day, to tired to organise internet, cooking for bb etc, maybe best for me to give her the ideas and then she will make her own choices. xx -
10 month old still waking at 4am for feed
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Again good suggestions, sadly my daughter is a loan parent, and is working. I did suggest the dream feed, the groan said enough, I think she feels if she goes to bed early enough she gets uninterrupted sleep until 4, also she is not convinced that feeding her at 10/11pm will stop her waking. Maybe I will give it a go, next time I go to give her a nights rest xx -
10 month old still waking at 4am for feed
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My daughter would need to put her alarm on to do that as she is in bed 8.30/9pm!! Good idea in principle though -
Is this usual? If so when is she likely to give it up. Stayed with my daughter to do the 4am feed last night and felt like she will neve let it go!! Guzzled it down, zonk back to sleep. Wakes about 2 hours later at 6 and has porridge at 7am. Has last feed at 7pm as she goes to sleep. I have forgatten more than i remember and it would probably be 'out of date' now anyway!:'(

essential fats from non-dairy products
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Difficult to say, she is 10 months and dairy does seem to aggravate and the medical treatments not making any improvement. -
essential fats from non-dairy products
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Fair point, just thought that judging by prevous posts there are loads of Mums who will have already faced this issue. Consultant never mentioned what to substitue when saying to cut out dairy! -
My g.daughter is unable to have dairy due to excema. Her Mum is concerned she is not getting enough fat. She has salmon, mackeral, some formula, some breast and all home cooked food. Where else might she get her fat from? xx

Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion

?Best breast pump/ how to give 5 month old medicine
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The pump looks impressive, any one selling? Already using syringe, she still spits most out! -
Help. Daughter has electric pump, but it takes her 20-30 minutes to express 50ml, surely there must be a faster machine?? Also, baby needs to be given piriton at night and she just squirts it out with her dribble. Daughter has tried using pipette and a syringe. The only time it was vaguely successful was when I hel her slightly tipped downwards and she choked it down! Dont remember having this problem myself so any suggestions to either problem gratefully received xx

5 month old waking every 2 hours
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Have looked up sleep regression. Thank you! This sounds just like what is happening with them, will pass the info on and hopefully it will re-assure her that she is not experiencing something abnormal! -
5 month old waking every 2 hours
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thats sounds close to what my approach would be, I think she is worried that this will still be happening when she goes back to work in April! She is a little resistant to co-sleeping and resorts to it only when she is exhausted. Baby is a very affectionate girl and loves being with you and interacting, so I think co-sleeping would suit her! -
5 month old waking every 2 hours
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thats interesting, thank you. She only sleeps for about 20-30 minutes, at around 8am, and 3.30, a very alert girl, who goes 3 + hours between feeds during day. -

5 month old waking every 2 hours
Kalamiphile replied to Kalamiphile's topic in The Family Room Discussion
No, not colicky at all:'( -
My daughter is exhausted with baby going to sleep at around 7pm, waking around 10.30 and then on average every two hours. She is suffering from itchy skin ? excema, but not sure this is what is waking her. She suckles to soothe and then goes to sleep again usually quite quickly until the next time. My daughter feels this is not usual, I have forgotten more than I remember! Any re-assurance, advice please :'(

Many thanks, will give size 4 a try!

I think it is on tight enough. Do larger nappies hold more fluid?
