  1. Also happy to recommend Julian. He built beautiful floor to ceiling wardrobes in two of our bedrooms. See for yourself in photos attached.
  2. Think jayd5 means Chandelier as Mrs R. hasn't replaced Jerk place.
  3. Does anyone have a contact number for Eddie at the ED Warehouse? I've sent an email expressing an interest in trading my goodies there but haven't received a reply yet.
  4. Hi all A massive thanks to all of you who baked cakes and/or helped out yesterday! It was a great team effort and lovely to get to know you all a bit more. We had lots of cakes to sell and you?ll be happy to know that they sold really well. I have some of tupperware here for you to collect or I can bring it to the Magdala. I?m off to Paris for 12 days tomorrow so if you are desperate to get your tupperware back then you?d better act fast. Thanks again..Tracey
  5. Cath Hope you enjoyed your breakfast or found alternative arrangements. Only just seen your email. Sorry. We should all swap telephone nos at our next meeting. It would make life easier.
  6. Thanks Cupcake and Monica and everyone. That's great. Contributions are starting to look better. BTW, I think I must've missed a few messages before as I was busy baking. I have to say that of course I was joking when I said something about giving someone a run for their money. I do hope we are allowed a bit of light-hearted banter in this forum??????!
  7. To any of you WI wannabee's who have not read my recent email, we would like some more cake baking contributions please!! Please let me know asap if any more of you will be making a cake for the fair on Sunday!!! or if you can help out on the stand???? Thanks ..Tracey
  8. I know about the issues concerning charity law etc, so that's why I definitely didn't say that we were raising money for charity. This is a very last minute effort by our fledgeling WI group to make a few cakes -we'll be very lucky indeed if we have enough money left over to make any kind of donation. The main reason for our presence really is to raise awareness that we are setting up a WI group. Maybe you'd fancy joining our 'wild' nights at the WI???!
  9. Well Bawdy we'll be giving you a run for your dosh this year. Let's see if you can still clean up in 2 hours. Apparently, Blue Mountain cafe will be selling there too so there's definitely more competition.
  10. Just in case it's not clear the WI is the Women's Institute - it's a young and trendy one we're setting up in ED. Spread the word please.
  11. Thanks for that. Give it your best shot as we're up against some competition on the day!
  12. Thanks snowboarder. Will add you to my list. If they are bad for you they'll probably taste great.
  13. First of all we need to pay a fee to the organisers of the Fair. Hopefully we'll cover costs and make a profit which will go towards setting up our new WI.
  14. Monica I'm sure your cakes can't be that bad, can they?? Many thanks for your kind offer but I'm not a gluten-free expert and I'd rather not experiment for this occasion. I have a fab recipe for flour-free chocolate cake so I'd better stick with it.
  15. Thanks mumra. Got you listed for flapjacks (early pm). You are the first to confirm. Well done.
  16. Sorry David Mc but you can't back out now!
  17. David, how about a flour-free chocolate cake using almonds instead of flour? Monica, feel free to bake a cake with your ingredients.
  18. Great stuff! Hope you'll be there buying our cakes on Sunday then.
  19. FYI, the Dulwich Kingswood WI is no longer in existence due to dwindling numbers. It consisted of a group of older ladies only.
  20. Hi all I have been in touch with a couple of WI people including Thelma (WI Surrey) who have confirmed that we are allowed to sell our cakes to the public as long as they are wrapped (clingfilm suggested) and they don't need to be fridged (so no fresh cream, etc). It would also be helpful to label ingredients -nuts, etc so we know exactly what we are selling if asked. I have also spoken to Mark who reconfirmed that we can use some of their forum space. The space is apparently enough to fit a trestle table to display our cakes. My next step is to give the festival organisers a courtesy call just to double check they have no objections to our presence there (can't think why they would) and also to enquire about hiring a trestle table. So, further details tba. In the meantime please let me know if 1) you are going to contribute a cake and 2) what you are going to make (we don't want to end up with 50 fruit cakes and nowt else, do we!) and 3) if you can assist on the day. Thanks Tracey
  21. Thanks for all your help. I did actually figure it out myself. Cheers
  22. Hi I'm organising the cakes but I haven't really used the forum before so can you please tell me the best way to contact Mark re space at the forum. Thanks Tracey
  23. Hi, I'm happy to coordinate cake baking for the festival. Will be needing some details about the stall from Mark /Jenny etc. Will need to check about health & safety issues with other WIs. Shall I contact Surrey WI myself or not? Don't want to confuse them with too many contacts. What do you think? Tracey
  24. Think what we need is a really good, proper Italian pizza restaurant -no chains please.
  25. Hi all, one of you obviously drank too much wine tonight and forgot to take your jacket home with you. Looks like I've been nominated Lost Property Monitor so let me know who you are and I'll give it back to you.
