  1. Green and Blue - Mon, Tue and Wed I think (I went when it was just Tue then found out they had extended to a few more days) gorgeous wine at off licence prices can be consumed at the table - tried some fabulous ones
  2. Yep, I'm one of the many people that has experienced the offers/discounted products not being actioned at the till, highly irritating - worrying/supicious since it seems to be such a regular occurance.
  3. Ps - and i would definitely go in if there were booths - I love booths!!! espeically seedy Parisian ones :-$
  4. I agree with the slightly uncomfortable feel to the layout, I always choose Jacks (when open), which still has the seperate little rooms like the old blue mountain which I also loved far more back in the early 90s. Green and Blue has a nice variety of seating too or blue mountain for somewhere to chill only if I have a precious day off in the week. Mon P'tit Chou always feels a bit pinched - the counter huge and seating squeezed in and cramped. On the positive side - I quite like the slightly 50's window seats, my preferred location if I do nip in. Also I like the kitchy parisian prints on the laminate table tops - perhaps it could be re-vamped into a 1950's style soda bar? I love the stories on here by Wordy describing Heber Road etc. of the 1950s...nostalgia sells if you get it right
  5. Thanks for the bits of much needed humour (awards especially for the 'cheese' 'fish' dialogue (very Monty Python/Victoria Wood) and AnotherPauls 'official complaint' stationary. Mrs Robinson - only ever afforded some woolly gloves in the boutique (gift for quite an individual type individual) - it had only just opened and they were pretty nice to 'cheap glove buying' me...Furniture Mrs Robinson - bought a card - again no complaints about service, in fact seemed quite nice. A friend bought a massive 1930's type mirror, poss in sale, so far he has had no need to complain, and the mirror is gorgeous and now lives on a wall in Brixton! A place where I've always received good service though is Grace a Favour, I especially like the 2nd hand rummage in the back room (oooh err) - the staff always seem relaxed, friendly and happy to work there - so as a customer I feel relaxed and happy to be there
  6. This person/ring of people, is probably earning at least the minimum wage, without being taxed. Shop work pays about ?5 an hour doesn't it? - if she manages to scam around 5 people a day, Monday to Friday, between ?5 and ?10 a scam, some people being more generous than others - she would be doing quite well relatively, and her time is her own. This person has made a decision (considering the amount of years this has been going on) and has honed her skills to become a 'success' at what she does. A shame, as given the right opportunity it sounds like she could have ended up on the stage...thanks for the warning, we shall be prepared should she stage a scene outside our front door - perhaps a round of applause would do...
