Air quality around Goose Green
Flyingspur09 replied to worldwiser's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Add to that the road closures which has pushed all the traffic onto Lordship Lane, the air pollution is horrendous. -
The park isn't owned by Sainsburys, its council property however they have an agreement with Sainsburys to police / patrol it and open/close the gates in the morning and evening.

Random doorbell ringing? (Melbourne Grove area)
Flyingspur09 replied to PSJ's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi everyone, just to say that this happened again about half an hour ago in the Melbourne Grove area. I have the footage on cctv if anyone would like it please message me privately. I caught two young boys knocking on my neighbours door and then hiding behind my wall to see if they would answer, I then went outside and warned them not to continue as its being recorded on cctv. They were slightly surprised and then ran off. Both of them are between 13-15 and wearing black t shirts with shorts. -
weird guy approached my 12 year old today

I also live on Melbourne Grove and I know the person you're referring to. I reported him to the police for his behaviour on Tuesday and he also tried to hijack a motorcycle from a delivery driver. He's been arrested several times since March for various different reasons. As I was walking to Lordship Lane on Tuesday evening I saw him being restrained by 8 police officers outside Lila's Jewellery shop. I am happy to share the info privately so just sent me a message if you need to. -
Hi All, I have experience and knowledge from the Motor Industry. They're targeting Japanese cars specifically because the Catalytic Converters are worth allot of money. The most common makes they're going for are Honda, and Toyota followed by Mazda and Mitsubishi. Please all beware and take are. If you have cctv or a garage thats very useful. Please find photo attached of a vehicle the gang in ED are using to perform these operations. I caught this on my cctv when a neighbours CAT was stolen from his Honda Jazz. Motorbike Thefts - Last night. Beware!
Flyingspur09 replied to Flyingspur09's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Melbourne Grove, East Dulwich Grove, Lordship Lane, Colwell Road, Playfield Crescent -
Hi all, Just to say that last night motorbike thieves were very active in the area. I managed to catch them before they stole a neighbours bike at almost 2am and called the police. It seems they are targeting the area and looking for any bikes they can steal quickly. They were speeding around on a high powered bike carrying expensive cutting equipment and other tools. A piece of advice to all of you who have bikes, try and keep them out of sight or locked securely otherwise you might not find it there the next morning.

Lloyds bank east dulwich due to close......
Flyingspur09 replied to sweetgirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The site is in fact owned by the Dulwich Estate and falls under their restricted list of buildings which means whoever does decide to take it over will have to follow their very rigid guidelines about what they can and can't do with the place. The lady at the counter informed me that they were only notified on Wednesday this week and that none of them will loose their jobs as a result, but merely be moved to other branches. -
Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise in the last couple of months. I know over 10 people who have had theirs stollen from vehicles which are parked on the road side. Try and avoid parking your cars in quiet places and if you have a driveway or garage, store your vehicle there whilst not in use or overnight. Thieves tend to target Japanese cars as they are the most sought after and very expensive to replace. Honda's being the most popular. It seems the cat locks don't work so they're a waste of money and not cheap to fit. Unfortunately there isn't really a solution to this problem as cars with alarm systems fitted won't be activated unless the car is physicality moved or broken into so that also doesn't deter thieves.

Burglary on Landells Road- Sat 18th Jan
Flyingspur09 replied to DanielS's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Very Sorry to hear that. I would recommend upgrading your security. Install Banham Deadlocks and also an alarm system if you haven't already got one and CCTV Cameras. Naturally all cost a fortune but its well worth it in the long run.
