  5. It's good to see the problems with the road closures are being laid down here, also don't forget the closure of Champion Hill into a one way system is another road close by that needs opening again into a 2 way instead of one way, will help and ease the forcefully made congestion...anyone says this is not true/not the reality is purely head in the sand, head above board, and some people are totally misleading them self's thinking closure are a good idea, and this is not fooling people who are, not stupid. Using this pandemic to rush and push things through (closures) when it's hard to get any noted opposition is pure criminal activity.

So you're saying Redpost that 100's very slowy moving idling enginesover longs periods of time as the direct consequence of these silly road closures of traffic of which will be dirty diesels with massive engines (bus/lorry/vans/trucks/skips/amazone delivery/trades\ec...) when idleing are less polluting than were as before they were freely moving about at 20 MPH and not concentrated dirty fumes in one very small compacted area of a busy high street and surrounding ares's of ED? No, No , and No sorry....no.... Not all car's are stop start even new ones. When hybrids have to accelerate for travel feet at time due to the road closures, they are defiantly emitting fumes when accelerating, not enough kinetic energy to harves energy at 5 feet a time over 100+meters. Same with buses. sorry not buying that sounds like a council point of view that to me...sorry it does. Please we are the measuremeant devices you found and shared here?
  7. With all this terrible traffic, I bet Southwark did not monitor air pollution/traffic levels before the barriers were installed, and sure won't after the installation, and a reason would be that air pollution and traffic would be x2 or x3 worse in that area, such it takes at least x2 to get to A-B using those very useful and load baring roads!
  8. Yes I saw the unnecessary excessive traffic...again....
  9. I assume that those of you pushing this petition will also support me in my bid to have the following roads re-opened, as without these closures my assertion is that the traffic will flow much more freely around the local area: Oglander Road: (remove paved area at Grove Vale end to allow a straight cut through up to Bellenden Road and beyond), Ondine Road : remove one way section- benefit as above Coppleston Road: Make 2 way throughout Bellenden Road: make 2 way throughout Oakhurst Grove: remove bollards near junction with Kelmore Grove - to allow access through from East Dulwich Road and remove pressure from the Peckham Rye junction. Milo Road- remove barriers to allow easy access from Lordship Lane through to the village Friern Road- remove barriers to allow for alternative to getting stuck down the side of Peckham Rye. I feel sure that if all these closures were reopened then the gridlock in the area would disappear. =========================================================================================================== Yes I would support you, and same for getting rid of Champion Hill one way system, Please let me know!
  10. I cannot belive this, first Champion Hill pointless onway system, and it's increased traffic and pollution around the local area, Calton Ave in the village, with it's increaded pollution and increaed traffic, AND NOW all all these extra ones! A 10 min journy took 25 mins beaucse of these poitless road cloures, how can this been allowed to happen, given the despicable pollution and traffic increse? Utter shambles, for the few this is for, not the many!
  11. Yes Ep 3 is not working for some reason....
  12. Grove Lane near Dog Kennle Hill scool and downwards very good at it we are pleased to say
  13. same as yesterday, some signs more restocking but better off elseware really was savedd by elswere. sod this place
  14. Loose tea is always nicer to drink! And easy to make single ones too with the correct size filter.
  15. I've Objected, this area needs to be left alone for the sake of nature and keeping green spaces open for us to enjoy for many more years, I hope others do to, this council doesn't care about us, only ?????!.
  16. I've signed, its the only right thing to do. Thanks for the head up on this.
  17. this was happening a lot around the area like a month ago or so ago, but they did get their act together, eventually, a week or so later!
  18. Seriously! Forum! Yet again complete unnecessary comments that are completely not related to the good person who started this thread, who is trying to help our community by informing us about what happens in our own community, and for that I'm very thankful for, and then for people who appear 'very offended' and then to take the conversation into a talk about accents?! Seriously, harden up a bit! Seriously! Forum! Keep it to the original content! Other wise might as well close this open forum and just randomly post ramdon rubbish talk somewhere else? Oh by the way, please don't be offended, by, erm, what i said...?! :)
  19. Well I spoke too soon! They are being collected as we speak! Still want my money back!
  20. Some Bins on Grove Lane haven't been done for 2 weeks now either, and overflowing and onto the streets, I would like a reimbursement for my missed collection of my refuse. I love my council! great service for cheap price hey!
  21. I totally agree, Southwark are cashing out, not sure what we get back though, also i think for gigs/festivals on the park and evens such as theses which charge huge amounts to attend, and they're exactly Glastonbury Festival. I think Local residents should get free access to these events, they will make money from us still, buying the overpriced drinks and food, since it's our park, our tax keeps these parks in our borough maintained (and to repair the damage, after) ect. It's only fair, we keep it up, they use it for a fun events, they make their ?, we get a 'performance not to forget forever' couldn't do it without a well maintained park! Southwark are a disaster for us, secret like the communists, they need all kicking out, and run by locals who actually care, not pocketing ?packets? under the table, they never share never tell, use all the tricks the lawyers tell them, do their thing and bypass us and keep us out, at all costs!!!! and at our costs SHAME ON YOU, OUR SO CALLED BOROUGH, OF SHAME! Thanks for informing us, it's good to share and good to know, then we can make them think again!
  22. Also People here are forgetting people need to drive alone this road if you are: Driving kids to/from schools (shop after to fill the fridge for the children on their return ect) Rush hours in use Tradesmen (they have heavy tools/ladders materials) rush hours in use can't use public transport ect Local doctors in cars (this is bad as people really need them I'd think, 100's and 100's of people live on that st) Palliative health workers (same as above) The elderly or people driving the elderly around (they simply cannot use local transport, body is knackered ect) Builders (they need cars/vans/trucks so they can do their work and a service your property) Local delivery drivers (your Deliverroo/Domino's delivery will arrive later and colder, and will have a knock on affect for the next customer) Social workers (they drive everywere as too many destinations in one day and pushed to the limits) People simply driving from other parts of London to another and trying to stay off main routes to save time, money, and pollution? Why should they be forced to joined conjested roads when they are trying to avoid? Could name many more, but these are the type of car users have no choice, public transport can't facilitate them, that's why they drive, and using the alternative routes just adds time wasted in already congested routes, adds pollution, and traffic and slows everything down, which add more pollution...knocked on affects.... So what do people say here in favor of the closure, or try and say there are other ways, if this is the reality of the problem with this road closure has caused, and in favor, giving the reasons above? How does one fix the problem of drivers needing to drive, to survive, to create income, and care for the people in need, without increasing traffic in other area's which is unneeded in the first place? https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/comment/letters-to-the-editor-14-02-2019/ Please read the above article too, will help in the understanding of this poor situation. Thanks
  23. Thanks srds for forwarding a very nicely pointed out letter to the from Southwark News. This is very helpful in pointing out the matters we are discussing. I'm sorry to hear the that talfourdite has felt that he/she has been exausted by events that was posted above, I praise the efforts made by the good people here like this, and talfourdite. I think we all owe some kind of thanks and respect to talfourdite for letting others know what's going on in our wonderful community by starting this tread. The sad subject of this road closure has caused us sadness in our lives by trying to get from A-B using roads that are clogged with speedhumps and having to dodge islands and by voluntary of choice. Using this road instead of the main and already congested roads as the only alternatives, is our way of using the roads we have to us wisely, and lessening the impacts of it, by using Champion Hill. The council has lots of bad reps here surly, and should be taught a lesson by not doing things officially and brushing things under the carpet. The Council have to be taught a lesson that they simply cannot do as they wish by not involving the people who are impacted directly, and around area's locally (mentioned in the letter to Southwark News) The legacy of this tread and others on EDF will testify to this, and is the begging of people getting together and stopping this and making things better once again. Sometimes when the council does nothing to roads as they are, makes it better. I welcome people here getting together and helping one another. Let us all correct this. It is obvious this road closure is not working and was a bad idea done wrong by direct fault of Southwark Council.
  24. ED_MOOTS Wrote ----------------------- Whoever wrote that letter could walk to Denmark Hill Station go one stop to Peckham Rye then take a Southern train direct to Tulse Hill. I bet it's quicker than driving in rush hour. --------------------------------- Trains from East Dulwich to Tulse Hill are also a good idea. And not busy trains at that time of the morning. But for those who need to drive for the many good reasons as people here have previously stated, or need to, this is not a valid option or alternative to everyone I'm sad to say. The extra driving times and extra pollution and traffic for the people who have to drive will continue as long as this road is closed. Extra traffic along the road of Denmark Hill station that ambulabce's need to get to Kings hospital is quite frightening also! And with so many people trying to access Denmark Hill station at rush hour, the commuters (and they are not using cars of course) to get to work, almost have to que on the road at very busy times, with the extra traffic caused by this silly road closure, this is frightening also. It's only a matter of time before something terrible happens. I thought the letter to the SLP was very correct at explaining the problems this needless and pointless road closure has caused.
