  1. Thanks everyone - your input is much appreciated
  2. Thanks Mightyroar I also liked the head at Heber - very open to questions about the school. haven't met the head at Goodrich yet - i think that requires arranging an appointment. it seems that Heber are making a real year on year effort to improve - which is encouraging
  3. It's fast approaching that time to choose the school. The two schools in our immediate catchment are Goodrich and Heber Road, so I thought it might be worthwhile getting some feedback/opinions of the merits of these two schools, from anyone who may already have kids at either.

Tom has also mentioned that the arrival of Foxtons is going have an effect on the property prices. Are they doing some sort of deal?
  6. I am thinking of putting my house on the market privately or via a broker to avoid rip off estate agent fees, and wondered if anyone had any experience of doing this, or information they could pass on as the best way to go about it?
  7. He was painting a radiator
  8. I saw Robert De Niro in the post office on Saturday
  9. I agree with Tom, this pub has real potential for BOTH smokers and non smokers, lots of room, fantastic outdoor area and the pipes were clean (don't know about you Tom but no gut problems today) We've yet to sample the food, so the jury remains out on that issue They should definately apply for a late license though, as we were asked to leave at 1 minute past 11 DD
  10. Excuse me, but i thought this thread was about the best pubs for smokers, not for more tedious anti-smoking rants. DD
  11. It is required so that the smokers still have some dignity, and can at least feel like they have not been completely ousted by society by being able to have a civilised drink and a burner without having to shuffle about in freezing cold car parks in the rain. DD
  12. Coats? It's the middle of summer man, are you insane?
  13. I think the Plough actually wins this particular event. We went for a few pints of brown last night and it has an outside area which is both undercover and heated - thumbs up.
  14. Let's not forget horny posh bird (Marks & Spencer)
  15. CPT and the Dog are both excellent choices for the discerning burn merchant. DD
  16. I never actually saw Jekyll and Hyde, however i read a review saying that his accent added to the role, and that if he'd been from Birmingham, the performance may not have been quite so convincing.
  17. Actually, it was more Domitianus I was referring to, which I have to say was a rather good rant - well done, and likewise well done to you for sticking up for Nesbitt. I actually don't mind the man - even though my missus also fancies him (more circa cold feet than yellow pages ads)
  18. Look, just get off the fence and say what you mean.
  19. Lovely - i can get my dinghy out and paddle down for a pint.
  20. I think Jerome Robson was the one who had the smash hit "When The Boat Comes In"
  21. I've bumped into Terry Jones in Nicholas, saw Timothy Spall in The Palmerston, managed to catch a cheeky glimpse of the Cheeky Girls in Dulwich Park (they were wearing hot pants and riding tandem I hasten to add!) and I have definately seen Robson Jerome in Safeway (or was it Jerome Robson - always get those two mixed up!) DD
  22. A bit of Friday afternoon fun - East Dulwich Celeb Spotting (been done before - i know - Tom told me the other day in the pub) but no harm in an update. Recently I've bumped into Terry Jones in Nicholas, Timothy Spall in The Palmerston, the Cheeky Girls in Dulwich Park (wearing hot pants i might add) and Robson Jerome in Safeway (or was it Jerome Robson - never can tell) anyone else? DD
  23. Certainly not, I can't bear domesticated animals. Give me a wild feline any day.
  24. If you like, just offering the male perspective
  25. Dear Bea I am married to a Dulwich Mum, but it's a different one! We also have two darling children. I also enjoy DM's blog. DD
