  1. I had to go there about 7.30pm last night. It was a total scruffy, empty-shelved, dispiriting shambles and I could only get 50% of what I needed. Vegetables virtually all run out, empty boxes all over the floor and hardly any staff replenishing stock. Several other customers commented on the state of the shop and were making calls home to say they couldn't buy what they where looking for and asking their "other half" what to buy instead! I've made a complaint online today.
  2. So pleased there's a happy ending
  3. How lovely you rescued him! Maybe the RSPB could give you some advice about releasing him?
  4. Glad to hear it ended well. How did they get him down?
  5. Until someone can fix it you could take the battery out.
  6. Thank you yes I had already tried the Fox Project but they say they don't cover SE London unfortunately and suggested I try (which I am) a homeopathic treatment which i have no faith in, to be honest. Vet will not give me proper vetinary medication on prescription as it is very dangerous to dogs but they could administer it if fox was caught.
  7. Are you single Foxy as I think we'd get on well?!!! "My" foxes do the same and sit by the back door waiting for supper 😄. But one has terrible mange and I can't find any animal charity to help me trap the poor thing in order to treat him or her 😭😭😭
  8. Re the question about niger seed being scattered everywhere...not sure if you are using a genuine niger seed feeder which has tiny holes so the seeds don't drop out as so easily. Also, depending on the type of feeder being used, you can buy a circular tray/dish which attaches to the underside of the feeder and catches the spilled seeds. I get masses of goldfinches (W Dulich)...last year counted over 20 in the garden at one point! Now buy bird food in bulk online from Garden Wildlife Direct as best price I've found.
  9. Poor woman. I do hope she reported to police. Even though they won't do anything they need to know and record all these crimes as helps make the case for more resources
  10. Wow thank you all for this info. I buy PG tips and see they are not as "green" as I thought so will also dig out my teapot and sieve from somewhere at back of cupboard. Never seen a fully plastic teabag and amazed anybody would buy them nowadays.
  11. Forgive my ignorance but I've never heard of a plastic teabag. How do I find out whether the ones I use have plastic in. I've been putting them in the garden waste bin but maybe that's wrong?
  12. So happy for you
  13. Why not take the southeastern train direct to Herne hill from Victoria, which stops at Brixton first. Go every 25 mins except Sundays?
  14. And no chance of ever getting rid of this loathsome ignorant Council as the voting numbers politically will never change, so they are free to do whatever they like. How sad they are once again slyly killing beautiful old trees. So depressing
  15. I think it must have been cleaned up as I did two circuits of the park at 7.30pm and didn't see anything. Though there were a group of young men with motorbikes in the park where motorized vehicles are prohibited
  16. By your logic, I should argue for a rebate on tax I pay towards schools and maternity services since I have never, nor ever, will use them!
  17. I live in West Dulwich and dismayed to discover there will be now be 2 orthodontists within a few metres of each other. How useful NOT! And another Yoga place along with the new one in Dulwich Village. Very unbalanced range of outlets in my opinion. However I do like the plaza idea at the crossroads in West dulwich.
  18. What a typical Southwark Council fiasco! Have no idea what to put where now.
  19. I'm sure nobody is surprised as totally predictable, except to Southwark Council presumably.
  20. Really sorry to read this and hope you're OK. Must have been a horrible shock. Was it dark or during the day?
  21. TFL have put the maps on their site showing more alterations to the bus routes (mainly shortened) from 15th June. I hope some of you may get lucky with the changes but from where I live it's yet another degradation in service and SE London is already the worst served area in London for public transport. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/permanent-bus-changes
  22. ....and watch the anticipated big price rise next year for the audacity of having a brown garden RECYCLING bin, enabling the Council to compost on a large scale and then sell it back to us.
  23. Yet more discrimination against older people not up to speed with mobile technology or those with poor dexterity who can't use or don't want to use a phone to pay, eg. maybe have security concerns.

What a depressing outcome. Very sorry for you and the OP as I think we would all assume they would have been "nabbed" with such good photos etc
  25. It's the same in West Dulwich although they finally came and emptied them today. Thought it was just my street which had been missed but clearly a more widespread problem.
