Remember, if you've got an iPhone use the "find my phone" function as I know the Police have been getting great results lately tracking stolen mobiles.

Things like this really annoy me - it's basically them sticking two fingers up saying screw you lot we'll do what we want when we want! Have these idiots not got jobs to go to?? -
Perhaps scoped out for mugging by cycling teenagers?
EDOliver replied to ianc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A definate target for muggers is mobile phones especially iPhones and Blackberry's as they have a high sell on value. Increasingly Police are tracing iPhones in real time and arresting those carrying them by using the "find my phone" feature which means that within seconds of logging onto any computer the iphones location can be traced. It's a brilliant bit of technology and very simple to set up. Go settings>iCloud>findmyphone>on Would also recommend backing up numbers, photos etc and getting mobile phone insurance (through household insurance seems cheapest) so that if the phone is nicked then it's not the end of the world. -
I use the M3 a huge amount to commute home to the New Forest. Leave at 5am and it'll be a breeze. By the time you get to the fleet services pull over for a cuppa as the heavy traffic should be behind you!

Where's this info come from?? Have you told the Police?

Maybe with the Olympics coming up we should be more worried about this lovely lot! Scary stuff. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18798792

Did anyone see the recent documentary about this?? 95% are organised Romanian gangs making ?100,000's a month. The show featured ATM's in central London (Mayfair etc) and the techniques used were incredible! Basically when you're using an ATM look around and make sure someone isn't looking over your shoulder as you punch in your pin. Once they have it they'll distract you, grab the card (not the money though) and calmy walk away. By the time you realise what's happened you're a few hundred quid lighter. That's just one of the many techniques they use

Great work -
I actually find the picture incredibly sad when you compare it to what's there today. Look at the shop fronts; well presented family businesses serving the well dressed proud people of SE15. I'm not saying it was all Mary Poppins because I know it wasn't, but it's a world away from what we have today. What ever went wrong, how very very sad!

For a young professional it's a brilliant place to live. There's lots of great places for a night out in a relativaly small area and during the day there's lots of brilliant shops on and around Lordship Lane. I've always felt like it's a hidden S.London gem compared to the much hyped Clapham which everyone is constantly barking on about. As for safety I've never had a problem. As long as you use your noddle a bit and dont draw attention to yourself I'm sure you'll be fine. Unfortuntaly this is a big city and there's crime whereever you are. ED rocks - do it.

Stick your keys and any small valuables (wallet, iPhone etc) under your bed at night. The chances of a scumbag burglar tip toeing around your bed when you're asleep are pretty slim, they're far more likely just to bugger off when they can't find anything downstairs. And please remember to lock windows from INSIDE at all times - double glazing is suprisingly easy to smash and if windows aren't locked then entry/exit is very easy.

Langton rise! Mugging, drug deals and fly tipping .....
EDOliver replied to Barred's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If there's such obvious drug dealing going on has anyone thought of calling the Police?? Not much they can do if they're not aware it's happening! -
For the attention of any black cat owners Underhill Road/local area. Having just driven down Underhill Road I noticed a dead black cat on the pavement at the top of the hill opposite the cemetery/near the new flats with the see through curtains. Certainly not a nice sight but thought I'd make any cat owners in the area aware.
