My partner heard an owl in the night earlier this week, we’re on Barry Road. We both heard it again tonight, sounded pretty nearby. Amazing sound!

Are Southwark collecting Christmas trees on bin day as standard, or do we need to request collection? We have a food waste bin but not a garden waste collection.

Post not being delivered by Royal Mail

Post today and yesterday for us, some of it from late October. Had followed advice from here and put a complaint in at Royal Mail. Post starting arriving the day after the complaint was acknowledged! -

No post of any kind for weeks, we're on Barry Road. London-based friends of ours sent out wedding invitations over two weeks ago which have arrived to friends across the country and internationally, but not to us 6 miles away! My partner and I are also waiting on some NHS referral letters. It's so frustrating. -
Oh no, losing the 12 would awful. It?s such a key route into the city. Changing at Elephant would add time onto an already long journey :(

Egyptian goose attacked by dog off lead in Peckham park
staplemeg replied to staplemeg's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Update on the adult male. He is recovering well but due to the nature of his injury (he will apparently always have gait abnormality) and because Egyptian geese are classed as an invasive species, he is now in a sanctuary and will not be released back into the wild. It?s the swan sanctuary in Shepperton: https://www.theswansanctuary.org.uk/ He will be well taken care of there but it?s very sad that we will not be reunited with his family. -
Egyptian goose attacked by dog off lead in Peckham park

Update on the goose: someone from a local rescue centre came and took the goose away yesterday evening. Later updated that the goose?s leg is broken but it is being well cared for. Hopefully will be returned to the lake once healed. We didn?t witness the incident first hand but we know that the owner didn?t stick around after the attack. The park liaison officer has been contacted about the incident and given a description of the dog and owner. We hope better signs are put up telling people to keep dogs on leads in the area and that the warden does their best to enforce this. -
Please, please keep your dogs on leads when near the lake at Peckham. A Weimaraner went for the Egyptian goslings about an hour ago. One of the parents went to protect them and was attacked instead. It now has a bad leg injury, punctured and possibly broken. Major thanks to a lovely person called Jill who rescued the bird and called an expert to come and inspect the goose. We came on the scene after it happened and are still waiting on the expert to turn up. Will post an update if we get one. It?s springtime, there are a lot of baby birds out and about and they are easy targets for excited dogs. Please be mindful and respectful of nature and keep your dogs on leads at all times near the lake.

Four fluffy Canada goslings in Peckham yesterday. They had been kept under wraps for a while it seems!

Does anyone know if it?s just this week they?ll be collecting trees? -
Does anywhere have lateral flow tests?

Not sure about local pharmacies, but in case it helps, we have been able to order through gov.uk again for SE22 the last few days. -
Another recommendation for Roger and Critter Solutions. We've called on him twice and he's done a fantastic job both times. He's very fast but thorough and takes great care in his work. He's a true gent as well!

Letter from Ireland postmarked 3rd of September arrived this morning!

Similar issue for us too. I had a test last week and got my results 36 hours later. But my boyfriend sent a test off on Thursday and still hasn?t heard anything back. Did you track using the Royal Mail barcode that came with the kit? That?s showed that his test was delivered on the Thursday night, so the delays must be with the lab testing.

About 30 minutes into the match our tv and internet went down. Still not back nearly an hour later. Service status on Virgin website suggests it?s a localised issue and says it?s expected to be fixed at 10am tomorrow. Such a terrible service, we have nothing but trouble with Virgin!
