  1. That might explain why the bus countdown app is struggling too.

Maybe try offering your place as a location instead.
  3. I can see four people of that name on linkedin in London..
  4. Happens every time a bus goes past in our house.

  6. How is doing this at 4am antisocial? And a small bonfire dangerous? Really?
  7. Or sell it for free conditional on collection. Someone will have it.
  8. I have a friend who uses the route South Circ, Honor Oak, Wood Vale to cut the corner as she sees it of the South Circular at Forest Hill heading west.
  9. .
  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06d92q9/episodes/downloads This is helping me learn some stuff. Prompted by this thread I went to a free recital in John Wesley's church on City Road at lunchtime, 2 Scarlatti Sonatas and a Beethoven one on piano, and Brahms violin sonata. Not a way I've ever spent my lunch break before but will go again.
  11. As it is an SE22 issue you might want to put it in there, different audience.
  12. "A sensational booze altar" at The Capitol. Excellent.
  13. I've popped in a couple of times so far, so far so good. Not the finished article as they say but a nice space, feels very different to me from the Barcelona days, and a lovely few beers in my experience. Hopefully it does OK.
  14. Yes, we still use them.
  15. Sue You dissolve or add CO2 to H20 to make H2CO3 ie carbonic acid ie carbonated water.
  16. So the council has written to Meadow to "confirm that there is no formal resolution for the CPO and to offer terms for the reoccupation of the astroturf." Happy to see the CPO is still in the back pocket for the future, but will be interested to see what these terms are. Clearly this announcement has been made today to try to maximise publicity for it given tonight's fixture (which I trust we're all attending, or at least donating to..) so I wonder if we might hear from other backers as well on what they're doing now the initial fuss has faded away? I say this as an optimist btw, not a critic.
  17. Not sure why some people on here are so aggressive to this body. Their website makes it pretty clear what they're all about.
  18. is it in a car park then? If it's on the road then I'm not sure what apcoa have got to do with it.
  19. Like they say - you'll get used to it, it's just part of city living isn't it? The more you focus on it through the longer it'll take. Similar to IlonaM we're on an night bus route. I can't sleep places where it's silent at night these days.

Leaving aside the Begging Bowl specifically I don't get this. Why shouldn't an established business use crowdfunding? I got involved with a chippy in New Cross wanted a new fryer and premises via crowdfunding. Also a street food business wanting to set up a permanent base. And a goat leather tannery wanting to expand its business. And more. What are you objecting to?
  21. To add to the tales of woe I got there around 1825 last night and left just after 1900 so 40 minutes or so. Two windows each manned by one person, definitely scope for another person or to to speed things up. As they close at 8 and the queue was longer when I left I would recommend being there by 7 as you might be risking it a bit. As for Christmas...... Not really acceptable is it? I'm going to get everything delivered to work from now on, even though we are being asked around where I work (Old Street) not to as it adds to central London traffic problems and I understand that sentiment. Selfish maybe but there needs to be a better alternative.
  22. Love this quote - " At present there are informal crossing arrangements at all three arms of the junction, meaning pedestrians can only cross when there are gaps in the traffic. " Or, in other words, there are no crossing arrangements whatsoever apart from run for it.. Survey done. Hopefully the crowds coming to the new bar place will be safe.
  23. Also you almost certainly don't need to be there by 8. I'd be happy to get there at 8.45 myself.
  24. Depending where you start from of course..
