  1. Hi all, Cherry Tree have revised their proposal: Change of use of the upper floors of The Cherry Tree Public House from ancillary staff accommodation (Class A4 Use) to create a 26 bed bunk house hostel (Sui Generis - Visitor Accommodation) across four rooms plus ancillary accommodation for the general manager (Class A4) So less beds and onsite staff - which is better. My only concern is that late night access is round the back of the pub via an outside stairwell which backs onto a very residential area which may be an issue for noise disturbance. Here is the link to the new plans: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/simpleSearchResults.do?action=firstPage
  2. Does anyone know what the outcome of this was... I can't find anything online and wasn't notified of anything? Thanks!
  3. I have corresponded with the Planning Committee and they will take objections by email - please get them in by 3pm. Email: [email protected] [email protected]
  4. Goldilocks, I have asked the planning committee to defer the decision as insufficient notice has been given for objectors to write in. I encourage you to write a letter as I am doing which will be considered during the application.
  5. Is anyone who made an objection to this proposal planning on attending the committee meeting? The more people objecting this proposal who attend the meeting the more likely we are to get the right outcome.
  6. Hi James, I made an objection to this and only received the letter about the planning committee meeting yesterday. I cannot intend in person and had hoped to write my objection in a letter, however apparently they require at least 2 working days notice... which is impossible as I only received the letter yesterday and the committee is tomorrow! Can we do anything about this? Thanks!
  7. So an update on this... The planning officer is going to recommend that the Hostel application be approved...! The next step is for council officers to sign this off, so we will see what happens next. Apparently once signed off there is nothing local residents can do. Sigh...
  8. Hi Renata, Besant Place SE228DA trees need collecting. Thanks
  9. Hi James, Is this an issue, particularly around crime, that you can highlight to the local planning council? Thanks James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It sounds like a crime disaster area waiting to > happen. > Our minimal local Police effort will be sucked > into this one proposed new establishment if > built. > > The current pub is already disturbing local > residents - compounding it with 47 people living > in dormitories isn't going to make that any better > and quite likely significantly worse.
  10. I actually find this really shocking, as a research employee of king's I aways held it in the highest regards (particularly for my field, mental health), but to be put on special measures is a serious issue. It makes me afraid for the future.
  11. ok so I've done a pre-order with mons... 3 cheeses and some crackers, min 250g, ?40, amazing cheese but my gosh nearly fell to the floor with the price...
  12. popcorn is the most over priced food item ever .... as a foodie I refuse to pay for something I can make for 50p at home!
  13. oooh good question, having been with my husband for 6 years we have never actually seen each other on xmas and were discussing what to do locally on xmas eve...

Rendelharris, Let us, in the spirit of Christmas and trying to be neighbourly in a small community respectfully agree to disagree. Merry Christmas and I would encourage you to attend the Cherry Tree more so your naturally authoritative schoolmasterly demeanour makes everyone behave!
