  1. Anything by Julia Donaldson Kipper books How do dinosaurs go to bed Going on a bear hunt It needs to be something you don't mind reading 9999 times
  2. Although school nurseries do offer 15h totally free, most intake only in sept It seems that most private nurseries manage to impose top up fees one way or another (illegally) It would be worth investigating though And try amott rd, etc? But my littlest is at mm and if we were not moving away, I would be leaving there from Jan 2014 until entry to school nursery in sept, rather than move him just to get the 15h
  3. I think for 4 and up, it's not much different, but if you have a 2-3 yo, DKH is a bit less death defying (plus has the sandpit) But my children are particularly kami Kazi
  4. I find it more stressful than dkh There are a lot of high walkways and platforms and it's hard to keep track of where your children are, on busy days You can pick blackberries there though ...
  5. I am having a flashback to the Barmouth rock pool floating poo incident of 2004. Serves me right for letting child gambol naked in the water. It was wholly traumatic. I spent ages trying to anchor the blighter down with rocks, in the end I sort of penned it in with driftwood and draped seaweed over while hoping the tide came in quickly Shudders
  6. That would suit my big one A sprinkler or water play table or similar would be good for littler ones and go very nicely with the sandpit ...
  7. Open wc 19 aug I don't think there is a waiting list
  8. 11-4
  9. Sue, we will be around, by the way
  10. Label their rucksacks?
  11. Hisar Child friendly menu and not usually busy at lunchtime
  12. Crystal, my cosleeping children have all managed nights away from Me (at 2 1/2 or so) by sleeping with my sister or their nanny. It seems to be a good compromise
  13. Could the minder even put her into pyjamas so straight to bed the moment you get home?
  14. Sounds to me either she needs to drop her nap now, or if she has already, she is massively over tired by bed time
  15. Does she nap? I would say cut the nap or reduce it, never let her sleep after 3pm, run her around a bit outside in the afternoon, dinner very early, skip the bath and into bed by 6
  16. Section 12-14 includes the farm and playground http://www.walklondon.org.uk/uploads/File/sections/JubileeGreenway%20s9.pdf
  17. It's a playground, I suppose
  18. Is possible also to get a river boat http://www.clipperpub.com/html/find_us.html And there is a Eco park and Brunel museum I think ( not been)
  19. Swan st I think it's called Opposite the clipper pub along rotherhithe st https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=SE16+5EX&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=London+SE16+5EX&gl=uk&ei=VarFTKn6EcOOjAft9fy4BQ&oi=geocode_result&ved=0CBUQ8gEwAA You can walk along the Thames path till just before the Hilton then turn back into rotherhithe st It's quite a small park but has some big blocks to climb on and a pirate ship and is quite shady It certainly makes a (free) day out for us, farm and scoot along the Thames then park
  20. Any chance you could rig up some water play on hot days?
  21. I agree with Pickle It's totally normal for the 'full' feeling to disappear after a while as your hormones settle It sounds like a growth spurt, possibly with a bit of dehydration on your part ESP if you haven't been looking after yourself so well since your loss Also after 3m the baby starts to come out of the '4th trimester' and the brain takes big leaps, causing unsettled behaviour - from 16w in particular babies undergo a 'sleep regression' which is very much to do with a leap in development, and the unsettled behaviour is what traditionally led to suggestions to wean at 4m or even before
  22. Thing is most local parents are cautious of free schools, where qualified teachers aren't required
  23. With foreshore to investigate if tide low and Thames to walk along plus lovely park close by
