  1. Fantastic! If only it could be all over his Facebook page...!
  2. Here's a few shops in Lordship Lane with very friendly (but not overly so as to make you squirm or run away) and helpful staff: SMBS food store (always up for a laugh); the florists two doors down; Greetings (the cards shop); the DIY shop; and John Barnetts (shoe shop).
  3. You could also try the dulwich Paradiso film club - their autumn season is starting soon. And some of us j oined a local Come Dine with Me - all ages - and had loads of fun and met new people!

They came to Goodrich in about 10 minutes. Maybe if called repeatedly they might increase their patrols?

  6. Yes, that's right...balls knocking into cars and general amusement all round on Sunday night. They were then moved by the police a while later. This has happened before...
  7. Sounds particularly scary...When you say "attempted", how did you manage to get them to not come in, as it were?!

Thanks for the advice. I > need it quickly before I go crazy. We have an ADT alarm system. It includes motion sensors as well as sesnors that are activated when particular doors are opened and the alarm sounds and has to be turned off with the passcode...It's a monitored system. Had it for years. Went off once though when a spider crawled over the sensor...
  9. The block between Friern and Upland.
  10. Anyone else experienced this? Had a passenger side wing mirror broken (pavement side)last night. Partner's car - clearly they tried but couldn't break it off. Saw other cars on our stretch had also had their mirrors tampered with. Am going to report it. Urge others, if affected, to do the same. Might improce on the police presence on a Saturday night.

Hi, do you mind saying where you are? I too have a very neglected garden next door and experienced the same thing last year...if it's the same garden, perhaps we could do something about it?!
  12. I'd be interested in being part of this too.
  13. Would definitely want to join...had suggested something similar a few months ago with a view to donating proceeds to charity...
  14. Sorry, just reread what you said - we didnt clear loads of the path, only some.
  15. That was us! Took 10 minutes. hope others can do the same...
  16. Last night we shovelled the snow away from the pavement in front of our house and then put some salt down. If everyone did this, the streets would be much safer, would they not? Took about 10 minutes. So if middle aged people can do this, can't the young ones too?!
  17. A thought (and I'm sorry I missed the poll). How about "Hoovering the Roof ... Again"? I fear that the title you have chosen could quite be confused with the first as it is easy for the "second" to be dropped off. I am in publishing and would recommend an original title for an original collection - other elements could tie it in with the first/ your brand, but surely an original collection deserves its own identity?
  18. Funny you should say this...a couple of weeks ago, noticed that someone had removed the wheel trim (is that what it's called???) from my VW Golf - they are the original ones. Is someone out there repairing their car at our expense? VW owners take care...
  19. Fare dodging - we probably think it's only the bad mannered "yoof" and ill tempered feisty people who do this. But no. Last week, our bus got held up by inspectors (rare occurrence) and a young suited and booted male clutching a copy of the FT was found to have not done what he should have. Result? Bus delayed, train missed. All to save ?1.20. What sort of example is this setting???
  20. The same in Goodrich Road. Not a day goes by when we aren't graced with its presence.
  21. So any idea who's done it? Looks vaguely predatory to me...Are they her friends? are they stalking her? Does she know they are there?!
  22. The state of Goodrich Road is appalling! I was hoping that, once Crystal Palace Road had got its makeover, it would be Goodrich's turn next. Does anyone know if there are plans to do this? And how does one go about making a fuss about it in the right circles?
  23. Hello, On tuesday, our telephone line suddenly stopped working and I'm having a terrible time trying to get Pipex to do anything about it. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem i.e. their line going down? I'm trying to establish whether it is an area problem or it's just us!
