Come along!! -face painting & glitter tattoes! -bouncy castle -cake sale -BBQ -arts & crafts -information on services provided -the chance to express your interest in becoming a volunteer -cooking workshop come along! Xx
  3. Thanx for the feedback so far guys... ryedalema...Have you been down to dog kennel hill adventure playground before? come and see us! We are a playground in the sense that-we have wooden play structures, lots of swings, an indoor area and as there is a large area of the playground that is 'untouched' & left in its more natural space were able to encourage the kids to 'fairy find', build dens & bug find....and as this 'unstructured' form of play is very very important this is what we are trying to promote...encourage & work on....
  4. Do you think there is a need is for a community garden aimed at Children and families that would have 4 primary areas... ?? Green Dream? Area dedicated to the planting/growing of Vegetables, fruit and herbs. ??Creeping, Crawling, Flying? Area dedicated to encouraging wildlife into garden. ??Reflections? Area dedicated to being Sensory Inspired, specially designed for those with Special needs and disabilities. ??Imagination? Area Dedicated to Imaginative play encouraging the children to make better use of their outside area for play. The green area will also be used to promote healthier eating and encouraging children to eat more fruit and vegetables. The host for this project would be the local Adventure playground , using surplus land to the back. so can I ask you... 1.Is there a need for this in our community? 2.Why is there a need for this? 3.Would your children use the Garden? 4.Would you like to get involved in a project like this? We are in the process of seeking funding for this project ,any comments greatly appreciated. x
  5. Hi, did you have a date in mind? If there were going to be older age ranges too then you could try the dog kennel hill adventure playground. Although we tend to cater for parties for children older than one there's lots of space for them to run around etc. Plus theres the kitchen if you wanted to make food. Let me know if you wanted any more info.x
  6. The event keeps getting referred to as a birthday party....it was an under 18's event, invitations posted on facebook. Young people responding on facebook as to whether on not they are going. A new thread should be started. RIP :( xx
  7. DJKillaQueen ..."containing certain socio-economic groups. Both Schools, parents and the judicial system, can play a role in changing things but as is often the case, the parents of the worst offenders are just as bad as the children themselves. we are so getting off of the subject...please shall we start another thread discussing black gang culture in our lovely east dulwich? Because that is what this thread has almost turned in to. Why beat around the bush if you want to say something-say it. I grew up in an area that was prodominately white however crime, gang culture was everywhere. Just because the media does not report on 'gang culture' within many cultures does not mean it is not happening. How can you make a comment abut the parents-how many young offenders and their parents have you met? I pray the parents & friends of the young man who lost his life arent reading this thread and the young man may RIP xx
  8. miles-just to 'clarify' how are you so quick to say clubs DO tell you this? should i list the several clubs in various parts of london who have stated its for membership purposes or such like? why hav such a deafetest attitude? I am not naive in thinking an id card would stop crime....however....if for only the purpose of future under 18 events they had a list of young people/proof of address then IF there was a crime commited then this would help alot,no? Yes, it is about your upbringing but I think as a society we all have some kind of responsibility .... too quick to close our eyes to what is going on around us...run home pretend like everything is perfect. Is there anything that WE could be doing to help young people who never had such guidance/love etc etc...
  9. thanks pearson... :) ofcourse these bars would not openly say they take details just incase we made trouble-but why else would they? looking back to when i was a 'young person' and frequented clubs/bars where trouble took place I know when schemes such as this were put in place it did help, but anyway this is a whole other post in itself. Our oyster cards keep a record of where we've travelled...facebook allows you to 'check in' at places....the list goes on...but yes this is another post. We seem to have got off of the subject.
  10. I'm sorry but in a sense we do swipe in at saisburys....nectar cards? They store all the information you've bought, personal info from d.o.b to address etc. With SIA licenced door supervisors who are trained to deal with difficult situations and are more than aware of ways in which things may be smuggled into a venue this would work. Also in regards to the smoking area at hamlets there is only one engrance/exit where security would be. Positive ways in which we can help or prevent situations should be discussed rather than us simply things won't work.
  11. I am under the impression that is was an under 18's event not a birthday party. We cant just say there should not be late night events at hamlets as we will just be pushing these events into to other areas. At certain clubs & bars I have been to in order for you to enter you have to show a form of id-not to prove your age but so that they have a database should there be any trouble, maybe at future events this could be considered.
  12. My heart goes out to all the friends & family of the young person who lost his life. It upsets me to see the comments made in regards to him being black or it being a trident case-are we just speculating or do we know this? Also, the comment made about it affecting small businesses? Honestly-is that really important? I think not Does anyone know whether the event had security to supervise the event - who would have carried out bag searches and body searching if requested to do so? As I know at previous events they have done. This may not have prevented this tragic incident from happening but would have definitely been a deterrent to the young people to not bring in weapons or maybe alcohol or other substances. Once again,my thoughts are with the families & friends affected x

  24. If you need any bath/beauty related ingredients (salts, cocoa butter, bath bomb ingredients) let me know! :)
  25. Bath salts are really easy and look lovely too & the little ones can get involved.... Using confectionary bags you can layer salts in different colours and put in layers of botanicals too...lavender, rose buds, calendula petals etc. Ingredients: Dead sea salt or just regular sea salt Fragrance(skin safe) or essential oil (making sure any essential oil you choose is safe also) Colour(skin safe) - optional Botanicals, such as Lavender buds, rose buds, calendula petals, safflower etc... Packaging: Confectionary bag or jam jar - Kilner jars look really really lovely Step 1: Put salts in a bowl & add a few drops of fragrance (Stay with 1% fragrance) Step 2: Add any colour to salts- a little goes a loooong way. Remember you can stick with just the one colour and add more to each layer Step 3: Put salts in chosen packaging-remembering you can layer with botanicals Finish with some christmassy ribbon and a handmade by your little ones label! TA DAAAA Have fun making..Kate.x
