  1. My sis and I have just come back from Whittlebury Hall - it's a spa near Towcester. You can use the spa on the day of arrival (we got there about 10.30ish), book treatments if you like, and dinner is included in the price. It's an overnight stay and check out the next morning. Definitely recommended, and only cost ?75 each.
  2. I quite fancy Big Fella Thanks. But don't listen to me, I'm not having much luck at the moment at all....In fact, lay it!

Only fivers? Don't undersell yourself! ;)
  4. I'm always slow catching on! Definitely interested in future ones though, thanks
  5. PGC - I would love a day trip to a point to point. Or the races, I'm not too fussed. I agree with Quids - I'd much rather watch a race/game knowing that I'd won whatever the outcome. How can I enjoy it if there's money on it?!
  6. Times are hard!

  8. I had a 3am visitor a couple of weeks ago. I heard something outside my front door so I got up and went to have a look. I went into the kitchen and someone opened the letterbox and shone a mobile phone in (my front door opens into my kitchen). I double locked the front door fairly sharpish! Bravery's not my thing. Last time I tried, I fell down the stairs and broke my foot! And Dulwichmum I do live in SE21. I was at Sydenham Hill station the other day and some hoodies were running from someone chasing them along the platform. Tut tut, what is it all coming to?!
  9. Can I bags the spare?!
  10. I think it's true for pigs as well - boars have a corkscrew shaped penis. That can't be easy. Anyway, back to the foxes.......
  11. Mine tried to charge an extra ?500 as a pet deposit. I told them I had a cat, not a tiger, and threatened to pull out entirely. But then, my landlord is the dulwich estate, and I get the impression they don't have as much personal involvement as the average private landlord. It's a con, but I think you just have to pay.
  12. I found one on here. And, a month later, I realise why he is single. And now, so am I :)) At least I'm learning more quickly now!
  13. I don't know, it's a huge ask and I'd hate to see him beaten in possibly his last race before he goes to stud. But then, I've always been a bit soft when it comes to horses. It's a long flight for a race on a surface he's not used to......oh for God's sake woman get a grip.........OK I'd love it! MickMac - I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't backed STS. Just like if Spurs win the league it'll be the best ?1000 I ever lost. (Well, it wasn't strictly speaking mine, because I arbed it, but you get the picture)
  14. He had a bad start as well, and was pulling like a train for the first couple of furlongs. What a race though. I've never seen a horse like him. Can you imagine being in front in a race with STS in the field? It must be such a horrible feeling!
  15. I was surprised by Zacinto......I know he's only 3, but his last couple of runs haven't been too impressive, and then he goes and pulls that one out of the bag. I'm think that accumulators are a bad bet. Makes me think of Placepot Pete, one of the customers in the bookies where I used to work - it was ALWAYS the last horse that let him down. And that was his wife's hosuekeeping money for the rest of the week gone. Same with football. Chelsea getting beat by Wigan - that would have let me down.
  16. John McCririck. Although slapping is probably far too genteel. I don't get wound up particularly easily, but him.......... Edited because I suddenly remembered the squeakiness of Joe Pasquale.
  17. Mick Mac, thanks, how stupid do I feel?! Agree that Rip is highly rated, I'd like to see him win. And I'd like to be at Ascot today too.
  18. I backed STS at 2.9. This thread is a bad influence though - I used to get teased for having a secret subscription to the sporting life, now it's not such a secret!
  19. 2 for spiders - they eat flies, so all good in my book. But I might try HB's suggestion for frogs that the cat brings in. Spiders I can cope with though.
  20. Sorry MM, I've backed Delegator. Not much money though, so I won't be too upset if he doesn't. And Vale of York in the 2.30. Only last time out Frankie was on Vale of York, but this time he's chosen Frozen Power. I hope he's wrong and doesn't go through the card today. Changing topic slightly - do you think Sea The Stars will get a mile and a half? I think he will (his dam won the Arc and he's won over 1m2f with plenty left in the tank), but a friend thinks he won't stay. What do people on here think?
  21. I don't know where I get liking football from. My dad doesn't really like it, mum had no interest. I remember dad being kicked out a couple of times because he was such a bad father and didn't take me to the football. Never lasted for more than a weekend though. It can be boring, but then so can most things. Makes up for it other times then. I would have loved to have been on the demolition squad at the old library, I'm so jealous BBW.
  22. My Girl - The Temptations
  23. Spanish Caravan - The Doors
  24. Counter clockwise for ages, then changed unexpectedly. Not at all like a woman!
  25. I definitely got out on the wrong side.
