Sexist to offer a pregnant woman a seat - Lib Dem MP Jo Swinson
Helen GV replied to Bic Basher's topic in The Lounge
Funny I always thought it was because of the extra strain pregnancy puts on a woman's body leading to (in some cases) extreme tiredness, varicose veins, and an assortment of other charming ailments not always immediately obvious to other people.... It is, of course, a woman's right to decline the offer of a seat! -
Brilliant thank you! We're stuck in traffic on our way there now so glad to hear it won't be a wasted trip!

Literally! I'm moving out and have lots of rubbish, need to take it to the tip (lewisham) but it lists a reuse and recycling centre only, does anyone know if they take refuse??

Fairlawn is a great choice! I have no experience of the other so nothing against it but my son loved Fairlawn -

My late August boy settled in well too, took a few weeks but I'm not sure either that he would have benefitted from part time school. -

I don't think I've ever had a negative comment either, and have been approached by people, often older ladies, telling me that it's wonderful to see. I remember being mortified when I first was out on a bus and my son needed feeding but at the end of the day he needed to be fed and anyone with a problem can move/look away. -
I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007I7KLHK Which is not very stylish but has been great as it doesn't need to be stuck to the furniture, and has stayed on pretty well. I need it for another week but after that you're welcome to it, or I have various table corner stick on protectors you can have now, pm me if you'd like them!

CMs are self employed so will vary in their rates, what is included (ie food, nappies, wipes etc), hours and days worked, whether holidays are paid, how many weeks holiday they take etc. They may have a daily rate as well as an hourly rate. The best thing is probably to register on childcare.co.uk, search for childminders in your area and send out a lot of emails! Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure but it'll give you a good idea of what it might cost..

Perhaps keep a diary of what you've eaten then how you feel, could be that some foods make you more/less tired than others..

There are some low carb recipes in the wheat belly cookbook, which is wheat free but substitutes things like ground almonds and coconut flour rather than other grain flours. Might be worth googling that too, there are a few blogs with recipes, will have a look and pm recipes if I ever get my little girl to go to sleep! Sorry you've got it again, though having been through it before I hope it wasnt such a shock for you! Hope all is otherwise well with your pregnancy xx
