Don't get too comfortable because the SNP have stoked up huge amount of animosity amongst the Scots working class (or non-working class)) against England in the last few years for their own political gain. Very sad really in my view as someone with Scottish interests.

  3. Maybe it's that wig that causes her brain to overheat. Could explain the migraines and the numerical ineptitude. Never mind, I'd justlike to know if she took it off when she had her intimate moments with JC.

    The Big Lie

It's the survival of the fittest in life and in business. When it starts to struggle why not arrange some finance and buy him out? He probably does not enjoy the business. This can happen. It usually takes 3 generations. Even better, if it starts to fail and you don't want to buy it then send me a PM and I will look it over. I can borrow as I have a track record in business. And if you are good at what you do and if I think you can run the business for me then you could be on the way up the ladder.

They were positive, constructive and imaginative and certainly much better than than the idea of attaching banners to lamp posts.

Apart from the cost of the artificial grass you still have the outlay for preparing the ground for it. Even then it is not maintenance free. For the same overall cost and a little effort you can have a living, breathing sward that is a delight all year round.

    Diesel Cars

Many people switched to diesel in the 90's and naughties because it was a lot cheaper per litre then and you got much better mileage with diesel. When it got popular, the Gordon Brown upped the excise duty on diesel and it has now become about 2-3pence a litre more expensive than petrol for the last few years. This has increased haulage costs as all trucks are diesel. Diesel in the UK is much more expensive than in Europe so foreign hauliers coming into the UK have installed bigger tanks and top up before leaving the Continent. That way they never need to buy our expensive fuel. The Chancellor did it, Guv.
  8. The Times has it today that there's been a bust-up over National Interest legislation between May and Hammond this week. She wants it in the manifesto and he doesnt. Guess who wins and who will not be the next Chancellor.
  9. 60sm is an excellent size to manage in terms of achieving a lawn that can be a huge asset. If you put down artificial grass, it will never look good ? even on day one. Artificial lawns are real naff and only get worse as times progresses. A natural lawn is a real asset and well worth the effort. It increases the value of your property and you can later look on it with a sense of pride and achievement. That said, if you have a have problems at present, I am sure these can be cured with a bit of effort and a little investment. Moss is the outcome of poor drainage and lack of sunlight. Drainage you can be fixed but if the shade comes from your neighbour, then that is a bit more difficult. Bare patches are easily fixed and here its worthwhile investing in some top soil and top dressing which will give you a good foundation for a healthy sward in due course. Depending on what you have, I would recommend a good scarifying followed by aeration and then top soil/dressing with grass seed.

My wife responded to a person who rang our bell on Wednesday. Male, white, middle-aged. He said he had spoken to her husband ( ie me) about supplying and spreading compost at ?4 per bin-full. My dear wife knows me well enough to know that I do ALL our garden work and DIY and would never pay anyone to do anything - apart from excavating a basement. I also make my own compost. All very sus! Also, about once every couple of months we get someone who approaches our front door, then pause, have a look around and then retreat. This is, I reckon they have spotted our CCTV camera. Cameras and PIR switched lights are a great deterrant!
  11. Looks like they have no idea about the measures to be taken to minimise the possibility of having a break-in. Their front door is a simple galzed domestic design that can easily be overcome. The window has no mesh, etc, etc, etc...
  12. I would definately suggest contacting Barrie Westwell how is a very accomplished master magician. He trains other magic performers. He is available to perform where ever you select http://theillusioneer.co.uk/ He also has his own small studio and a fascinating time can be had by kids and adults alike. It's located on Half Moon Lane and very close to Herne Hill station and very easy for a variety of busses. I am not linked to this business but our children have been there and loved it. Tom
  13. Barry does a fantastic magic show at his mini theatre on Half Moon Lane. Great fun for all ages over the holidays. http://theillusioneer.co.uk/
  14. And on Gilkes Crescent also.
  15. I must have pressed the wrong button on my dash cam and now it only shows Chinese menu. Can some kindly translate this an see if there is any way to get it back to English settings. Thanks
  16. There could be a multitude of different reasons for delays. Talking to someone on site is not a reliable way to get the full facts. Unless one talks to the principals at the contractors, structural engineers, developers, architects, financiers and planning then one can speculate all day long.

The 37's and 42's go past my window and I can tell you that the new "42" busses are much less noisy than the 37's. 10 years difference in age but also new technology with the supplementary electric drive system. Can't image how much these cost to buy. Guess there's not much change out of ?350k.
  18. Every credit Robin. You can have my vote any time you decide to stand as an MP! Tom
  19. Can't wait for it to start running. Anyone have inside info on a date?
  20. Would definately recommend the North Dulwich Lawn Tennis Club 154 E Dulwich Grove, London SE22 8TB Phone:07713 637614 Lots of sociable seniors there with a wide range of expertise. Entrance is a bit obscure if you are driving past but its about 20 metres opposite from the junction of EDG and Gilkes Crescent.
  21. If it's still there why not get some assistance and just bounce it out into the road?
  22. Anything that is described as "stunning"! To me it means the seller was stunned well before they even saw and purchased the item originally.
  23. Real anxiety will occur when steps are taken to curb the effect on the market by offshore investors in residential property. Such steps are inevitable eventually, as ordinary wage earners, within 20 miles of central London, cannot afford to buy a starter home with two salaries on a mortgage without the assistance of the bank of Mum and Dad. These offshore investors (or trusts or companies) are exempt from Capital Gains Tax and able to avoid income tax on rental income. As long as these two anomalies exist then the London property market will continue to be inflated. Most other countries in Europe do not permit such advantage to be exploited by offshore investors and usually apply an annual tax on property owned by non resident investors. It will happen here, eventually, but there are too many vested interests amongst politicians and other influential members of society to have it happen soon.
  24. Friends of ours want to move to the East Dulwich/Forest Hill area but they have an important requirement and that is the flat/house must a long distance view - ideally over towards central London with the Shard, London Eye and other tall buildings? Any suggestions?
  25. Found today. Please PM soonest otherwise it will be sent to the DVLA
