  1. Richard Dawkins, striding purposefully into Dulwich Picture Gallery.

(I > speak as someone who CBA and who does pick up > cans, bottles etc.) Speaking as someone that does quite often show up at 7am on a Sunday morning at the playground (sometimes I even take the kid), it's not easy to clear up a whole playground of rubbish while simultaneously making sure your child doesn't swan dive off the top of a climbing frame. I don't often pack gloves, broom and shovel into the pram but maybe I should start. I'll pick up the worst of stuff but I'm not going to be able to clear away a ton of smashed glass. In addition to kids and dickheads making a mess, I also think there is a hardware problem with the bins: if it's busy, they get full and people balance their crap on top of the bins (and obviously they scatter everywhere). If there's food chucked in the bins, I suspect the foxes are digging it out (which again scatters stuff everywhere). More bins with a flap might reduce the problem. But tbh I would have thought the best thing would be to get a sweeper around at 6am every day and to stop the naughtiness at night (I have no real idea how realistic that is).
  3. And did our MP Helen Hayes show up to a recent debate on rail service and advocate her constituents' views? No she did not: http://www.thecanary.co/2016/09/14/mps-zero-hours-contract-dont-turn-dont-get-paid-opinion/ But then again she has a 30% lead over the Tories...
  4. Alastair Campbell at Dulwich Picture Gallery.

  6. Nightmare. My sympathies. That's a bizarre crime.
  7. The coffee at Badgers Bakery is fine, the staff are very nice and they've done a good job with the inside and outside seating. I'm not crazy about all the pastries but the classic English bakery stuff like sausage rolls etc are good.
  8. Powder Cosmetics at 369 Lordship Lane is now open. It looks very nice inside but I wouldn't really know what the selection or prices are like... Also, I see that the sunbed shop at 355 Lordship Lane (which I never ever saw open) has been sold. Hopeful that means a real business will move in soon and make that shopping strip a bit more lively.
  9. Toby Anstis going into the cinema

  11. Dave "Comedy Dave" Vitty, getting into an ?ber at Oddonos
  12. You drink bottled water when there a perfectly good puddles you could drink from outside? The decadence of it all...
  13. Wardens have got nothing to do with it.
  14. Getting further away from East Dulwich tube ;) but I find Jade's milk-added coffees far too milky. A soup bowl of warm milk with a shot of coffee added.
  15. Edele or Keavy (not sure which for obvious reasons) from B*witched by SMB's.

Residents on the Grove will want the trucks on Lordship Lane. The residents can't make M and S comply with the law or make an agreement that works for everyone. That's what local government is supposed to do.

In this world dominated workers' co?peratives and collectively owned enterprises, I hadn't picked up on it. It seems a bit weird that they didn't mention it on that eceonmics degree I did, but presumably they foresaw the rise of smartarses on Internet forums and figured it would all work itself out. I had also wondered if the the morality of something was proportional to its profitability, so it's nice to have that confirmed once and for all... ...you tit
  18. "I am mystified by the criticism of delivery lorries parked in LL" Because it's space that's needed by buses, cyclists, people who want to park while using neighbourhood shops - which is why it's not zoned as a lorry loading bay. Because it's another example of how big business do whatever they want and rarely get held to account by government (central or local) - just like how the site got developed in the first place.

I hope that's in the tender documents if that's the intention. As an aside, can anyone see the actual tender docs online? I can only see the early notice, not the full shebang: maybe I'm looking in the wrong place: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/bef94a3b-ba8b-4ee8-b846-8abb5b29d8ff

Kids meals will not be served with any pepper, except for spaghetti bolognese in the afternoons on weekdays. Will all customers please note that this is for data privacy reasons. Thankyou" IMO the food is alright and the prices are fine. It's the queues that are nuts. Perhaps the intricacy of the menu doesn't help...
  21. The South Bank of the Thames would surely be the closest technically correct answer - and the water quality has improved a lot in the last thirty years. In front of the South Bank Centre is actually a nice spot to sit! There is also a temporary "beach" (a big sand pit) set up by the skate pit this year

If you poke about on the national rail website it has historic data for train journeys actual and scheduled and a rate times. It doesn't go back that far though.
