One of the joys of living in diverse London is that a Christmas lunch on 25 December isn't something that all staff will particularly care about.
  3. ...by taxing petrol and diesel cars more heavily, you mean?
  4. I like Johnnies. I've never noticed the TV one way or the other.

  6. Fly tippers aren't residents too cheap to pay ?16 - they're mostly dodgy shitheads who've been paid to take the rubbish away.
  7. i heard the clown was taken into custardy
  8. I believe they will all take shoes too. If it's run by a charity, then the best clothes might make it into stores. Other clothes will be sold by the kilo to raise money for the organisation that has the bin. Stuff that's not suitable for sale as clothes will be sold as bulk textiles for rags.

  10. The textile bin by The Plough is operated by Gaia, an extremely *unusual* Danish organisation with all sorts of *quixotic* ideas about how to cure AIDS. A quick google of 'Gaia clothing bins' will give you many, many sources of info. I would not use that bin.
  11. Quantity is not the same as quality (as the verbosity and volume of certain posters' posts prove).

The vast majority of SE Londoners take the vast majority of their journeys without the highly polluting vehicles that will be taxed further.

  15. "Awful poo lady" Gillian McKeith, using the ATM at the co-op.
  16. Where do you propose the bus stand goes instead?
  17. Don't forget to ruffle the feathers of a goose on Goose Green. The birds don't like it a huge amount but it's considered good luck among the fans. Do spot other DHFC suppprters by their blue and pink scarves, and give them the traditional fans' greeting of "have a go, big man!".
  18. Good to know - the council website is a bit ambiguous
  19. I don't know if you can take fridges to Devon St, they're not mentioned: http://beta.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-centres/reuse-and-recycling-centre?chapter=2 you might have to get a pick up from your house Refrigerants are huge greenhouse gases, it's really important to get them captured
  20. How good is this place? Is it two exclamation marks good or just one???
  21. I wonder if the difference is down to the fact > that in Dutch cities pretty much everyone cycles ? > young and old, fit and infirm ? and no-one wears > lycra. Are you familiar with the concept of "cognitive dissonance"? I despaired when Boris launched one of his > London cycling initiatives and appeared alongside > Bradley Wiggins. Why?
