My current job is in community safety, has it's ups and downs, like the contact with people... I am a serial volunteerer! My last and favourite was in a food project, FareShare-redistributing fresh and tinned food, donated by supermarkets, to needy projects, very satisfying...

NHS - Summary Care Records. In or Out?
siousxiesue replied to Peckhamgatecrasher's topic in The Lounge
I am opting out for sure. I received a recorded delivery letter which I had to pay excess on, from my doctor's surgery-thought it might be important. It was just a 'stop smoking' leaflet, along with a 'we see from our records you are a smoker' type generic letter. Never smoked in my life! It's still on my records though, crazy! -
love it! this is gonna be printed out and sent to my mum!

One of my favourite places in all of London, I'm always recommending it! Go in summer for the flowers too...Wonder if I can have my ashes scattered there....

Any ideas/suggestions welcome... my outside drain is blocked and now whenever the washing machine empties or we wash up, the water spills all over the paving. I've just tried so called extra strong drain clearer, do I need a plumber? Anyone had this and been able to DIY?

Community wardens have stickers to place in doors and windows-something along the line of 'I don't open my door to people without an appointment' and there's one for just inside the door to remind an elderly or vulnerable person to keep the chain on when answering the door

Charity Collections in East Dulwich
siousxiesue replied to Ann Potter's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
On a similar thread, Somerfield or Iceland always seem to have collectors/beggars outside. Some are genuine obviously, but recently a young man collecting was recognised by my mate as being moved on from Bromley. If you are concerned ask in the shop if they have given permission -
My ma has just had a full month of radiotherapy, not only a bus-train-bus trip for a 72 year old, but also regularly waited 1 hour, 2 hours even after having a timed appointment. Difficult, the place was really busy, the staff lovely and caring after eventually going in, and she is thankfully on the mend. Not so long ago it would have been a different story...
