  1. He caught me late one night at the Elephant&Castle, quite a few people were sympathetic and trying to help because it looked genuine. I didn't carry cash luckily so didn't lose anything.
  2. As it says 'dawn to dusk' on the gates I took them at their word and ended up with a disappointed dog (ok, it was more myself that was deflated) but really what are the opening times? Is it something that is common knowledge, and I'm not in the know? We were there just 7.30am ish
  3. Couldn't agree more

Facebook page says it's been cancelled?
  5. Yes as an occasional user, it seems obvious. The addition of touch pads at the top of every staircase leading to the platform you want seems the easiest solution to the perceived 'income loss' fear when leaving the gates open at peak times.

  7. This happened to me once, in the dentist near Post Office LL. I was paying quite a lot over a few weeks/months and did pay the fine for missing an appointment, but when the dentist treating me went though my charges she refunded it!

I get that the bid was won by Colicci but don't these come with at east some conditions attached or standard expectations to be met? And yes Cafe G is fab but sometimes there is 15 in our group so space is a problem ;-)

Lovely stories Stringvest, I believe the 'choosing' bit as my late mum and now my brother have a den set up in an outbuilding and I swear the local strays take it in turns ;-)
  10. We lost the mother and teen son who never seemed to react to anything! Still in love with the Malone's dogs!
  11. Hi James I'm wondering if this is your remit even, but if not maybe others have an opinion? Rye Caf? was recently taken over by Colicci, as they have done in Dulwich park also. The Rye building seems to be malfunctioning regularly! The shutters are stuck down on half the building and the access is only from the back door now so wheelchairs would struggle. I know they won the contract but I think they're highly overrated, prices went up and it's turned from a caff where you could get a great sausage sandwich etc to a place that time restricts breakfast! Service of a weekend can be glacial. What do others think?
  12. Tonight's gem: Giles and Mary watching Jane MacDonald and slagging it off, when Bonnie Tyler is on stage, Giles says Mary and Bonnie look alike, Mary says 'I know' very smugly. They don't look anything alike!!
  13. I know some charities can't take printers, St Christopher's for instance.
  14. You might want to post in Whats On section too?
  15. It has been increasingly difficult to push a wheelchair around bits of the park. I'm glad they're doing it

  17. The talk on Monday sounds awesome!
  18. Of course not but I guess you've realised there are some selfish people around here who can be slightly obsessive about parking outside their home even thought they have no right ;-)

  20. In this weather I'd be inclined to leave reporting it for a while.

I'm often conscious of what I'm grateful for, whatever at the time that may be. I saw the OP and said to myself here, here. I read somewhere that doing a 'gratitude meditation' can help improve mood in a short time frame. Anything's worth a go!
  22. Ridiculous! How about purely as a noise issue with the anti social behaviour aspect included? If it's a noise issue it means it has to be resolved somehow. Also there may be dog wardens still, a department in the council?
  23. I don't Tweet but maybe someone who does could tweet southern about this, it's ridiculous!
  24. The worry tonight is that, with no proper shelter, the dog could die in the cold. I'm hoping he is still barking, increases the chances of someone doing something about it. Silence would be ominous
