Advice on moving into Steen Way near Greendale
siousxiesue replied to Zaardvark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not very helpful of the council! Find out who your local councillor is, for the new address and approach them, or.. If you are close by, wander around Steen Way and knock on a few doors and (distantly) ask? -
Free Travel (Freedom Pass) Over 60's Suspended

Also at the moment, buses are middle or back door entry and no need to tap in. So I'm sure pensioners are ok for now -

I remember that pub! Although the spelling seems interchangeable from Google maps (Greendale) to Southwark Council (Green Dale)

In the last 24 hours government ministers have: 1 Accidentally made it illegal to drive to Wales 2 Stated, wrongly, that Covid-19 is in the water supply 3 Made it easier to see other people's parents than your own 4 Issued guidance about business that the London Chamber of Commerce have instructed us to ignore 5 Issued guidance about lockdown that 3 of the 4 nations in the Union have instructed us to ignore 6 Released advice top experts were not given a chance to review and approve 7 Said the announcement had to be on Sunday, so it could start Monday 8 Then said they meant Wednesday 9 Then said we must go to work 10 Then said we must not travel to work 11 Then blamed the public for not understanding them 12 Then appeared on TV to explain the rules, got them wrong, and had to be corrected by Piers Morgan 13 Then appeared in Parliament to explain the rules, got them wrong, and had to be corrected by the opposition And that?s just Monday Credit @RussInCheshire

I don't think the confusion is faux at all. Dominic Raab was on R4 Today programme and made two errors in interpretation, so if the cabinet are confused (or at least one of them) what does that say about the level of comprehension to these 'changes' TheCat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So, while its more than fair to say that Boris's > address was a little haphazard, once again I find > the hysteria and the faux 'confusion' emanating > from some parts of the country to be ridiculous. > > Could it have been clearer? yes. Odd request maybe. I'm really enjoying the wild planting down by Green Dale (from Townley Road) but I'm dismayed at the amount of litter! Has anyone got a litter picker I could borrow, probably by leaving it outside your front door, as I'd like to tidy as I walk, but can't bend!

A friend really couldn't decide her newborn boy's name so mum and dad wrote their favourite names on pieces of paper and put them in the cot. Whichever one baby grabbed, he was named. Owen really suits the boy

Inform the police and tell them they can get more info from the vet, surely no vet worth their reputation would withhold information regarding a violent dog?

Easiest/nearest farm that wants people to help harvest?

Quick Google search brings up lots of vacancies, although I was under the impression live on site was required -
Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > She said this: > > "The UK is an international exemplar in > preparedness" I guffawed when she came out with this one, but in a sense she's correct. The document prepared after the Cygnus exercise was indeed an example of excellent preparedness. In fact, so much so other countries followed it, and suffered less. We didn't follow it. We didn't follow the recommendations.

Opening up local school playing fields for exercise

12.45 today, 2/3 police officers on the playing field. I'm hoping they are not having to waste their time policing an open field, but that's what it looked like. -

Non essential shops are still open - why?! (duplicate)

I wondered how they got around the rules too, absurd. Apparently car washing is also essential, seeing as the car wash in Chesterfield is open too?
