Hi, there. You'll hopefully find that Surrey will answer your questions...but would def not rely on email and give them a call asap because they're not great with email. At all. There are some particular things you have to do at the start if you want to be a 'proper' WI which is have an exploratory meeting, and you might find htat if you get in touch with Surrey ASAP they'll let this count as it. But they'll need to send a rep, which means that they'll need to know your intentions to get someone down there on Tuesday. Or, you can hang off with that and have said exploratory meeting after you've had this first meeting. it'll just mean it takes a wee bit longer... PM me if you want more advice, and most of all, it sounds ace! Well done, ladies, for being so proactive! xx

Hurrah! There's nothing the matter with jam and chutney! If you start a WI you will find out just why we're associated with b***dy jam...and it's quite a cool reason (certainly a selfless one), as reasons go. But Jerusalem Schmusalem is what we say to singing said song. I think you're more likely to find N1WI singing Amy Winehouse or The Klaxons!

Sounds like you're good to go, then! Remember to take the 'official' stuff with a pinch of salt...I know that it can be a bit overwhelming to start with, but once you've been going for a few months, it's all good :-) We have some cool WI merch that we've had made up: badges, bags, pens. Hi, everyone. ED is a bit of a mammoth trek from North London...but can be available via phone if you need me! Don't forget to get in touch with Surrey and get them heavily involved from the start, because they'll be hugely supportive and also tell you where you get money from, etc. and it'll make sure that you can use their experience and stuff. as well as not thinking you can do things that you can't under the WI blanket (there's not much, but there's a few bits and bobs it's worth bearing in mind) If anyone wants to give me a call over the next few days to talk through things, gave Katiesa my number yesterday, so feel free to give me a ring. Hello! this is the N1WI. Thanks, Katie, for getting in touch. You will find it all really fun, and a v. worthwhile, friendly (etc) thing to be involved in. It's worth looking up Fulham's website, too, as they are young and have a good take on things. If you are keen to chat about the logistics, etc., then let me know and we can meet up.
