  1. Skidmarks.....I feel uncomfortable refering to you as that. Anyway, you seem to know a lot....what d'ya suggest we do?
  2. I wish to repeat that it's more or less every junction on Barry and Lordship that is a problem. We all know that with this government there is not going to be any new funds available....but I'm sure the council can get a bit of cash together for some yellow paint to get some double yellows going around all those junctions to give drivers coming out onto either Barry or Lordship more of a chance of getting out safely. Let's all write to the council to get this done!
  3. Mr Barber.....I've not seen a single yellow line anywhere. The original query related to Underhill, I'm talking about most of the junctions off both Barry and Lordship. Particularly bad, I think is Lordship and Goodrich. So impossible to get any line of sight we have decided to avoid it altogether and go down to Lordship and Heber. Too many vans and stupid four by fours in Dulwich. While we're on about it, propose the biggest tax hike you can imagine for all four by four vehicles in inner London!
  4. I think that double lines suggestion is very good.....mirrors too would help.
  5. I would further that query and ask Mr Barber to alert again how all the junctions off Barry and Lordship can be made safer. Why no speed cameras, why no traffic calming measures....something please!
  6. There have been a number of threads about this over the years and I have noted about this on many occasions. It's not just Barry and Underhill, it's Barry and every other road (Goodrich, Upland etc) that is a concern. Not just that, Lordship Lane and many junctions are dangerous too, particularly Lordship and Goodrich. I've alerted the council to it, and they don't seem to give a monkey's, however many accidents there are.
  7. Put your knickers on and make me a cuppa tea!
  8. Sorry, I reread my post and it was a bit sarcastic, apologies. My son is 1 year old in three weeks. Going back to your query...this weekend actually will be a tough one because my wife goes back to work on Monday after 13 month maternity leave. Tough for all concerned.
  9. I'm going home around 6, bath my kid, sing some songs to him, watch some TV with my wife, have a glass of wine with her, sleep, wake up, go to little dippers swimming with my son, buy some fish, walk round the park with my wife and son, cook the fish, eat the fish, chill, sleep, wake up Sunday etc etc. Is that the sort of information you wanted Fairy?
  10. No that's not alright.........you have alerted the reader of your post to expect a twist in Seven and Sixth Sense. Lemme tell you a story. I used to finish work at around 3ish and used to go and watch afternoon movies in Leicester Square for all of 5 pounds. Remember those days anyone! Anyway, I bought a ticket for Sixth Sense, walked into the auditorium....the action was rolling. I thought, no one told me it had already started. Watched for a few minutes, thought it was a bit intense and then the credits rolled up. I had rolled up for the ending....apparently one of the greatest twists ever. The reason the twist is Seven is so good is that the studio deliberately made sure they kept Spacey's name off the credits....remember this film was released soon after the Usual Suspects. Gwyneth's head does not count as a twist. It had no impact on me whatsoever. Best TQ ???? 11. That's a good idea....any chance you could let Mr/Mrs/Ms Administrator know so they can put it into action. 12. Exceptionally funny response! You mention Seven, yes, fantastic twist....but I didn't know there was a twist coming and it worked better as a result. Now, whoever hasn't seen the film, knows there's one coming because of threads like this. HonaloochieB Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > TonyQuinn Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > I suggest that this thread is discontinued > > immediately. > > Jesus I never saw that coming.
  13. I suggest that this thread is discontinued immediately. If someone were to "accidentally" open up this thread, he or she may be upset to see that the Usual Suspects has a twist in the event that he or she has not seen it. I saw the Usual Suspects just by chance the first weekend it came out....I knew nothing about it and the twist worked its magic more so because of that fact. Most people, from my own experience, have watched it and were prepared for the twist. Since then I have never read a review of a film before seeing it....all I look for is how many stars it gets from Bradshaw in the Guardian or French in the Observer.
  14. I initially thought it was a woman but by the end was convinced it was a man.....whatever the person was, he/she needs help. I'm amazed how long the police got to get to the scene. I do assume that the bus driver made a call. Anyone know if he did?
  15. These things happen.....it's a shame but East Dulwich needs another estate agency.
  16. I'll get me cloak!
  17. I love the Co-op. Louisa, I clearly don't know you, but you really let yourself down with that post.
  18. Mr Barber, just got to say that since your party decided to jump into bed with the Tories, you're spelling has deteriorated badly. Every posting of yours is riddled with errors. Much like the Condem government. It must be difficult knowing that you're going to feel the full backlash of the electorate when your time comes. Well done on winning in May. Treasure the victory....you won't be seeing another one again. Best Tony
  19. There's a name for serial wind-up merchants like yourself, who are 24/7 on forums like this.
  20. I didn't blame the Adventure Bar....not sure I could even identify it. The point I was trying to make is that ED is not a village anymore, that romanticism of the past, which may have been evident in my previous post, is not worth it. It's a new Dulwich now.
  21. Madger, I suspect the battle has already been lost....unfortunately Dulwich is no longer the Dulwich we fell in love with way back. It has become, and this is a fact, Clapham. When the Clapham hordes, and their friends at Foxton's turned up, then this is the logical conclusion. I will write to the council, they do have a habit of actually acting on people's concerns strangely enough. But, it would prove only to be a short-term fix. Dulwich has irrevocably changed.
  22. My God....that was the most astonishing retort I have ever encountered on here. And it seems you are right, Taper. This is sickening. Should I boycott the best weather forecasting site because of this?
  23. Well, I think they are the bees knees and suggest that all the forumites test the garbage BBC site with the elegance of Metcheck.
  24. I think that was a shockingly bad post Taper.....one of the worst I have ever seen on here. taper Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think Metcheck are pretty poor.
  25. www.metcheck.com By far the best and consistently accurate forecaster on the web.....
