  1. Small price to pay for dealing with this menace! 2. There's nothing wrong with a little bit of hatred. Now that you mention 4 by 4s.....get a life people and if you are one of those intolerable people who feel the urge to drive a tank please don't park on the corners of junctions. Its difficult enough trying to edge out the way some people drive and the way that the road network is in Dulwich. I do like cyclists though! 3. As I have said on many occasions on this particular subject and well done Southwark with grappling with the issue. Zero tolerance on fouling dogs and their owners. Extreme prejudice should be applied.
  4. Stop moaning everyone....it's as good a place as any in London. It has issues etc...it's just a crap piece of journalism in a crap newspaper. But it's free advertising. Just accept it for what it is! Don't take life too seriously Mr/Mrs/Ms East Dulwich!
  5. I'm confused by all the comments.......is it easy as a non-member to go to the pool with one's baby. Was planning to take our one-year old for session on Sunday morning. Will we be able to get in or do we have to book in advance or do we have to become members?
  6. No, what we need to do, and excuse for being harsh is to make life as difficult as possible for dog owners. Zero tolerance with extreme prejudice......
  7. Go to my legendary thread of earlier this year about what to do about it....there's a link there to get in touch with the council to clear up the mess. They can also leaflet and monitor. It certainly worked round our neck of Dulwich. If all this fails, then a zero tolerance campaign must begin with extreme prejudice. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,419890,page=1
  8. Don't organise to meet your girlfriend travelling in from Prague at the Brandenburg gate in the middle of the night in the middle of winter because its the only place either one knows. In the days before mobiles, that's exactly what I did and waited and waited until a screechy Lada turned up and she jumped out! We had a great weekend mind after I'd recovered from the frostbite! Fantastic city.
  9. Lee, I respect your initial post....but do urge a bit of brevity in future. Last autumn and winter, First Crapital Connect nearly lost its franchise after many passengers who used their awful service mobilized against their crap service. We harrassed the company, ministers, Tessa, Harriet, whoever it may be, we signed a petition on the Number 10 website, as well as posting on the fourm....if you're doing all that, then you may see improvements. Personally, I don't anything about the 484 but will back any petition etc you may decide to introduce. It's horrid when public transport sucks!
  10. Why? Half the fun is doing it like the secret lemonade drinker aka Elvis Costello's dad! See you at witching hour, you good folk of Dulwich. louisiana Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Perhaps we could get together and acquire an EDF > fruit tree ladder...
  11. Mr/Mrs/Ms Administrator....I've had enough of this rumour. Please delete this thread.
  12. Katanita, fear not........they will be there for a few more weeks to come. But if they run out pop down to Pretty Traditional and get their new wave of British apples! Fantastic!
  13. I did write it during my first job in mid 90s, while i was meant to be doing something else. I can show you it was a penetrating endictment of a collapsing Tory government. But forgot to save it on disk when I departed. Half expect someone to be living off my triumphant work. I'm not a novelist but I am a man of letters! 14. They're not sweet at all, which is great by me....get a bucket and shake something and I'm sure you'll reap a dividend! Go get 'em!
  15. Sue, that could be it. Many thanks Sue. http://www.gardeningforyou.com/sites/fthorpe/images/john%20downie.jpg People of Dulwich, get your ladders out and go and get some!
  16. By jove, I think I've got it.......it is a privilege to be a member. I once wrote a book entitled Private Member about a sex addict Tory in the 90s. Cracking read! Shame I don't know where it is but sure you get the gist!
  17. We were walking down Crystal Palace Road yesterday afternoon and as I usually do at this time of year I picked off one of the little apples on one of the apple trees down there. Really nice English apples....anyone know what this particular variant is called? Pretty Traditional has some similar at this time of year too.
  18. Hmmmm......as Blackadder so eloquently put it. I'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE (this thread that is).
  19. Hmmmm......strangely, I'm still in the dark. Do I get a prize if I say I love you too. Is it a door to some other dimension? I look forward to seeing you all on the other side.
  20. Anyone able to provide me an explanation as to what this thread is about and why it's already 11 pages long?
  21. Surely Sullied is jrussel in disguise....this is only his or hers second post! The alternative, yes as Jeremy so eloquently voiced, is that this new forumite is "quite mad." If you are new here, welcome
  22. Mr/Mrs/Ms Administrator....please put everyone out of their misery and close this thread up once and for all, until this Pulitzer Prize winning piece of journalism is finally published.
  23. I was not referring to you...in fact I thought your post was one of the most credible. dullified Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I didn't say there was anything wrong with Jeremy > Clarkson/Donal MacIntyre and Jeremy Kylie did I! > Read my post carefully! 24. Everyone please leave the man/woman alone.....jrussell is not the only troll on here. I suspect that most people posting day in and out on this site are trolls themselves. If you're worried about being exposed for posting nonsensical viewpoints, don't do it, even under a nom de plume of apparent innocence!
  25. Why go to Brixton or Stockwell in the first place?
