  1. I take it all back.....this Radwanska is really putting up a fight!
  2. I take it all back. She won a game!
  3. It's 4-0 to Williams already in the Wimbledon final, I wouldn't be surprised if she wins both sets to zip. Now, what is wrong with women's tennis....why is it so uncompetitive and why do they get paid the same as men? Doesn't make sense to me.
  4. There's too much discrimination going on here. Substitute SE23 or SE15 for something else and you'll all be facing more than just the community's ire.
  5. This thread reminds me why I gave up posting here....
  6. Do the relative merits of the interview techniques of Jezza and Brian really merit a top billing on the front page of the East Dulwich Forum? Walden was a right-wing nut as far as I remember, even though he'd been a Labour MP early in his career. His interviews were biased and kept the pressure off the then Thatcher government.

    Basketball

Funny, I spotted a couple of courts only yesterday at Dulwich Park. Just by the overflow car park.
  8. Some interesting comments, some typically rude Dulwich comments, that seem to dominate this forum nowadays. This is research Townleygreen. Do you really think that asking a few locals in my manor represents the sum of my endeavours on this front? KPC, thanks for reminding me about Adrian Chiles, even though your comment was laced with something else.
  9. This is not a wind-up. I'm a normal journalist who gets sent to footie tournaments for my news organisation. So any info would be greatly appreciated. My preview story likely to center on the role of football in the forging of Croatian identity following collapse of Yugoslavia. A brief journey of the last 20 years.
  10. This is all good stuff.....any anecdotes, references I can drop in gratefully received. I will also reference Dulwich in my copy at some stage!
  11. I'm a journalist and have been assigned Croatia to follow at this summer's Euro 2012. Football isn't the subject matter I usually write about and Croatia is a team I know very little about. Is there anyone around who can give me a crash course on the team, the players etc. Pint or two I can offer!
  12. I think it's come to the stage in Dulwich that we enact a policy of zero tolerance towards dog owners and their dogs if they do anything wrong.....Zero tolerance, extreme prejudice...that has to be our new motto.
  13. In defence of my and other comments. Mr Barber is a big boy, he's in a party that's in government, and has to deal with the repurcussions of joining the Tories in said government. This government has made many many decisions that impact upon one's daily life. It's really up to you whether you think it's a good government or not. Mr Barber, as our link to said government, has to accept the rough with the smooth. For good measure, I wish you Mr Barber, fun times over Christmas. You certainly seemed a reasonable fellow when knocking on my door.
  14. Rather than pronouncing that nothing can be done, I suggest you do some investigation Mr Barber, a la DulwichDeviant. Clearly, you're out of your depth much like your glorious leader. Best TQ
  15. Resurrecting this award-winning thread. http://gawker.com/5846781/superheros-main-weapon-against-apathy-dog-poop
  16. Indeed let's hope the person is ok. But a note of caution on that junction. I have noted it on several occasions but nothing seems to be done. Huge blind spot coming out of Goodrich onto Lordship, especially if there are vans near the junction. Much easier to drive down and come out on Heber if council not going to do anything about it.
  17. Nowhere near numbers 11 and 15. You have to be very careful. Very irresponsible. Annette Curtain Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jah Lush Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > No. Opposite Melford Road. 18. Went by Andy's house yesterday evening expecting a media pack outside his house ahead of his arrest today. Was surprised no one there. Anyone see him, let us know, especially if he presents himself at East Dulwich Police Station, which would be logical. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/07/andy-coulson-arrest-phone-hacking
  19. You liberals really take the biscuit. Your old strategy of playing everyone off against each other ain't gonna work no more Mr Barber. The cheek of this comment....are you not in government with Dave and the boys. You know they're gonna eat you alive, if they haven't already. Deal with the responsibility of being in power! Shameful post. The station is getting closed because of policies prescribed by Clegg and Huhne and Cable. Traitors maybe but they're yours so deal with it, accept it and promote it. BTW you said you'd get me some docs regarding Forest Hill Road planning. Still waiting.
  20. I know that there's a two-year plan regarding to sort out Forest Hill Road and would like to see what these plans are. We need more traffic calming measures, maybe some yellow lines or extension of current double yellow lines.
  21. I have written about the dangers of that junction for years. My anecdote of being woken up at the crack of dawn after a crash left one of them marooned outside of Barry's Supermarket. Imagine if people were there at the time! Now Mr Barber, get your colleagues in the council to do something about Barry Road. I know the Tories and their Libdem stooges in Parliament have taken an axe to council spending but this has gone on long enough, don't you think?
  22. Fascinating stuff...I'm a Londoner for over 40 years and didn't know there wasn't an NE code. Amazing. Apparently Anthony Trollope got rid of the NE and S codes in 1866. Yes John Major's favourite author!
  23. StraferJack, I believe NE and NW still exist. Excuse me for asking, but are you talking to us from the future? How are things then?
  24. Wonderful response Ratty....this is one of the best threads I've read on here for a longtime.
  25. Think you may have it Townleygreen. Well done. Congratulations. All the best and have a top weekend. One thing though, apart from Thamesmead, the SE20s are the most western postcodes. They weren't in SouthWest originally were they or was there an S postcode like North London's N?
