  1. Yes, you would need to pay the whole fine.
  2. Hope you get it back. I used to write my phone number on my children's first shoes and nearly always got them back!
  3. I was quite shocked when I saw babies/toddlers being pushed around in triple buggies in Sainsburys a few years back now from the Bright Horizons Nursery.

It does deter commuters. I live in the Herne Hill/North Dulwich CPZ and since we've had a CPZ introduced in April 2016 we can park in our own street after having terrible parking problems due to Lambeth introducing a CPZ near Ruskin Park. There are a few pay points to park but they never seem used. To park between 12-2pm in the Denmark Hill/Herne Hill/North Dulwich area you either need to pay for a yearly permit or to issue a visitor permit to somebody parking in the area.
  5. But if the CPZ did come into effect in ED it wouldn't apply at the weekend so you could park for free at any time and shop in all the local shops if you wanted to drive in. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I've lost touch with the proposals and live close by where a CPZ was introduced over two years ago.
  6. Do feel for you as looks like just the end of your car is in the yellow box, not half.
  7. Why wouldn't you like to see a pound shop in Lordship Lane Sue? Quite an extraordinary comment! There might be one within walking distance for you but not for others.
  8. Both primary schools have good results, although I seem to remember around 6/7 years ago St Saviour's had an inadequate ofsted report but most parents I knew who had a child there were happy with it. With St Saviour's I don't think it's a case of a family being prepared to attend church to get into the school. Their admissions policy over the years is quite strict if you don't attend a Christian church. 8/10 families living close by or have other needs are given priority.
  9. They posted some photos on here a couple of months ago or so if I remember rightly. Type it in the Search button on here.
  10. Fantastic
  11. Quite sad to see that somebody would be-grudge paying ?3 to pop in to see their mother in law just because they lived in a CPZ!
  12. I wondered what this strange blue light electronic thing that suddenly appeared a few weeks ago on a lamp post on the Denmark Hill Estate, near the shops was. Some kind of charging device but any car can park there so what's the point? There is a CPZ between 12-2pm weekdays and residents were not informed of any change so just seems another Southwark Council scheme not thought out properly.
  13. Do they suck their thumbs at nursery/school? I'm sure they don't but have a word with their teacher to discuss a plan forward.
  14. Superdrug have good and bad points but so far I've found them cheaper than the local pharmacies around the South London area. The one at Camberwell never seems to have enough staff, but there are two ladies there on the tills that are always cheerful and polite and make up for my negative experiences.
  15. Do you mean Greendale gumshoe? I've always known the area to be Greendale but seems it's now known as Green Dale?
  16. Main car park at Sainsburys was very busy today (around midday) so I parked at the park near the nursery. Loads of white vans parked there and recall one of them said make up or hair and make up so probably filming in the area. Came back to find somebody had parked their car right onto my front bumper, literally touching, even though there were other spaces around.
  17. Try the chemist next to Mcdonalds at Camberwell as that's where I used to take all my camera film to be developed up until a couple of years ago. Very reliable and helpful and not as expensive as ?12.99. Snappy snaps on the other side of Butterfly Walk are very expensive for everything, although I found their staff very informative and helpful. Boots are very good too, but a lot of their photographic services seem to have closed down over the past few years. Boots at Croydon are really good too and also for video to DVD transfer.
