But Bessemer Grange Primary seem to be performing well and not under performing by any mile. Stating that Judith Kerr also teach the German language to primary school children is always a plus I suppose but it's not a plus factor overall. Bessemer Grange and Judith Kerr have had a recent Ofsted visit. Interesting to see if the Dulwich Village Infants School and Dulwich Hamlets have a visit anytime soon. Both Ofsted visits/reports were over 10 years ago.
  3. Anyone remember Mint Cracknel bars? Used to buy them in my local newsagents, along with other sweet treats in the 70s but they suddenly disappeared.
  4. Growing up in the late 1960s and living near the Greendale area I always remember the stag beetles. They seemed to especially love flying around during early evening/dusk during the hot weather. Now and again we used to find one in the garden the next day seemingly lifeless and my Mum would get a stick and help it back into the Greendale lane. Some of them seemed gigantic to me but my Mum would pick them up etc. and not be worried. Living not far from the Greendale now and I had stag beetles living at the bottom of my garden up until around 7/8 years ago on some old logs but they have since disappeared. Good to know they're still surviving!
  5. Probably have to pay a bit extra for the experience of an old fashioned sweet shop. They also probably have to pay extortionate business rates and rent for the area. Went to Butterfly Walk in Camberwell a couple of weeks ago and a shop that has been there for many years (Just For You) had suddenly closed. Found out they had re-located to the Aylesham Centre in Peckham because of high rents in Butterfly Walk.
  6. Britain has become a laughing stock sweetgirl? Only if you let it!
  7. There was a discussion here about the new sweet shop but seems to have disappeared? Walked by a few weeks ago and was ready to open?
  8. I would put out posters of the cat if you have the time as it's quite rare in this time and age to have an unneutred male cat roaming around. I did this a few years ago and the owner contacted me but wasn't bothered about the mayhem they were causing in the area. Have another very young unneutered male cat calling out for my old three female neautered cats this last couple of months. He's very friendly and just sits near them but would be a good idea to get him neutered.
  9. What time was that James?
