  1. What size property are you after? There are a few 1 beds that come on below 250k. For a buy to let mortgage they usual ask for the rent to cover the mortgage plus an extra 25%.
  2. am in the vicinity of underhill road, helicopter overhead and just heard possibly a gun shot, definitely wasnt a firework, want to think it was a car backfiring and now police sirens! [title edited - Admin]
  3. InScarlet, Well done to you and your housemates for taking the cat to the vet. It's a shame nothing could be done but at least your actions resulted in the cat's suffering ending. I'm a dog owner and don't have much of an affinity for cats, but anyone who cares about animals should be appalled by this incident and by the owner of the dogs in question. It's in the make-up of Jack Russells and other small terrier breeds to chase and kill rats and other small animals, and as someone menioned further up, to overcome this you need to socialise these breeds with cats and other small animals from a very early age. I own a rescue Jack Russell X who's previous owners clearly did not socialise him with cats and if he sees one when we're walking he tries to chase it, growls etc. As a result he doesn't come off the lead on the streets or anywhere else there may be cats about. Simple as that. We're working with him to try and channel his energy into other areas so that over time the chase instinct subsides but it will take some time. The worry for me here is that these dogs have already attacked at least one cat and once a dog has lost their bite inhibition they typically do it again. And it might not stop at cats; next time it might even be another small dog or worse, a child. The authorities really need to be informed about this.
  4. I would be up for it, havent played since school, but did used to really enjoy it.
  5. hey kamila, I have a load of pedigree chum tin food-11 cans meat chicken, beef and lamb in gravy, we just got a rescue dog a few weeks ago and this food doesnt agree with his stomach, so would be very happy to give it to you if you thought nana might like it.
  6. mr eclectic waited 60 mins at norwood junction no trains to forest hill-now walking to penge as the 197 bus is on divert and not going near norwood junction!
  7. What's the reg of your car? We can keep an eye out for it.
  8. we went to one tree hill this morning and got quite a few blackberries, in the process now of making lots of jam! there were a few others there picking blackberries too!
  9. I received a letter today from the Anthony Nolan Trust asking to help try and publicise the Anthony Nolan Register, there provide a great service saving people's life, but yet only a small number of people of the UK are on the register, only 400,000 from a population of in excess of 50 million! You can register online with the following link http://www.anthonynolan.org/What-you-can-do/Grow-the-register.aspx and it only takes a few minutes. It no longer involves any blood samples, you just have to provide a saliva sample!
  10. 'Well that's really enlightening, thanks for that, I will sleep easy. Any indication of what these police cars may have been doing there? Any sign of Christmas trees or reindeers at all?' Surprisingly I didn't walk down hillcourt road to find out the nature of the incident as that would be rubbernecking, but I would imagine 2-3 police cars would indicate a fairly serious event
  11. at the time of this helicopter passing overhead, i was walking down underhill road towards lordship lane and there were two police cars with flashing blue lights on hill court road, guess that was the source of tonight's action
  12. in underhill road, havent received any post for nearly a week? is post being delivered or is the weather still too bad?
  13. By any chance was was the guy involved in this accident white haired and about 50? As last night was approached by a completely wasted and drunk man with stitches to his left temple/forehead, wearing a neck collar staggering around on north cross road, swigging out of a newly opened bottle of wine and carrying a further 4 cans of beer. He was trying to get to crystal palace road and was having to use the railings to prop himself up. If so the guy was completely intoxicated and no way should he have been sold alcohol, its sad if it is the same guy and that he still hasnt changed his way of living.
  14. Did anyone see the police and the ambulance outside the vale last night about three am this morning? the police had cordoned off about 10 meters of the pavement? after reading about all these muggings, I think we need to somehow act and get the police to patrol the area as a deterrent, as it does seem that one gang is operating here and muggings happening at 9:45pm just after dark is ridiculous, perhaps the police could do an undercover operation and use plain clothes police as bait before this gang begin to terrorise the people of east dulwich.
  15. there seems to have been a spate of muggings and attempted breakins, perhaps it would be useful if somehow there could be a greater presence of police on the streets, or just driving along the roads, just as a deterrent. Whilst muggings arent the serious of crimes, they can often go wrong and end up with disastorous outcomes! hope you're ok
  16. Ive just seen on teletext that a man has been shot dead on Barry Road. So scary, I used to live there.
  17. Im in agreement with LuvPeckham here, having worked in many hospitals brighton, eastbourne, hastings, guy's, st thomas, lewisham, generally on the whole the care at King's is brilliant, it has a fantastic a&e department, great facilities, 2 ct scanners and on the whole it is generally well staffed! Sorry to hear about the experience you've had Louisiana- but given the sheer number of people who are treated each day at king's i think its inevitable that admin errors will happen.
  18.
