Prestige Build and Management Limited
orlakeilyhandbag replied to Prestige Build and Management's topic in Reviews
Prestige Build have just completed a kitchen renovation in my Victorian terrace. This also involved the moving & replacement of the boiler, damp proofing and some electrical work. The project was well coordinated, finished on time and to an excellent standard. The contractors were all very professional, respectful and hard working. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and I would happily use them again for any future projects.- 20 replies

Yapping dogs every evening in Friern Road
orlakeilyhandbag replied to russia's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Would yapping dogs count as 'food waste'? If so they could be put in the brown bin... -
can we put plastic plant pots in the new blue bin?
orlakeilyhandbag replied to Miacis's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Into which plastic receptacle do I put a piece of kitchen paper with dust, dreid up peas and old cat food? I'm thinking maybe this would be compostable so the mini brown one, or should it technically be the green one? -

I was wondering if anyone else has not received any post for the last few days, or is it just me?

Britain's rarest owl The Long-eared Owl is Britain's rarest owl species and notoriously difficult to survey. It is thought that there is a UK population of just 1,500-2000 pairs. Strongly associated with conifer plantations, the Long-eared Owl actually requires a dual habitat; dense forests in which to roost and nest, and open rough grassland for hunting; particularly favouring Upland and Moorland areas. Wonder what it was doing in south-east london? I understand they are usually found in the south-west of england.

What age to leave a child 'home alone'?
orlakeilyhandbag replied to orlakeilyhandbag's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have just looked on www.direct.gov website and it is NOT illegal to leave a child under the age of 16 at home alone for short periods of time. It does appear to be illegal to leave them alone overnight, however. -
I have been thinking about this for a while and am quite interestd in peoples current views on this issue as I think they have changed since I was a child. I am curious to know what fellow 'forumites' think about this. For example at what age would you leave a child unattended at home and for how long? What do people think?

I think this dog may belong to a man living in Landells Road, as a white dog has escaped from there before...I will pm you the number.

Washing machine update!
orlakeilyhandbag replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Miele every time, my mums one has lasted 20 years and is still going strong! I now have one too after getting through 3 Zanussi, indes*it, etc machines in 9 years. Definately worth spending the extra money... -
I would just like to say that I had a really positive experience at this same NorthX Road Barbers a few weeks ago. I took my son (7) there on a Saturday half expecting to be turned away as lots of hairdressers refuse to cut children's hair on a Saturday. There was no mention of this though, although they were busy. I found the Barber to be very accomodating and my son left feeling chuffed to bits with his new spiky gelled hair!
