  1. my daughter who is now 16 weeks old hated being swaddled, she always wanted her hands out of the blanket so we gave up!
  2. i dont think the RSPCA will do anything unless the animal is starving/dying etc. Do you not have a noise pollution team?
  3. our second daughter is 15 weeks old tomorrow and for the past few days/week she has been dribbling excessively, putting her hands in her mouth and generally moaning but not wanting to take her bottle. Is she too young to be teething? Our other daughter didnt start until she was around 5/6 months (from what i can remember). Also does anybody have any good recommendations for teething products?
  4. my little one can sit up on her own and can hold her head up too. she also grabs onto things that you give her and i have noticed her watching us when we eat. Will wait until she is 4 months (got just over 2 weeks to go) and see how we get on
  5. just wanted to know what age people started their child on solid foods. A lot of the information i have read has said 6 months old (even my partner says 6 months) but if thats the case then why do they make food for 4 months onwards. My daughter is nearly 3 1/2 months old and she seems to be taking a huge interest when we are eating and i am tempted to start her off at 4 months slowly to see how she gets on. She seems to be a very hungry baby (weighed 9lbs when born) I cant remember what age we did it with our other daughter (i think it was 6 months). any advice would be appreciated
  6. we had a 4d scan for both our girls, its a great thing to have done and its amazing the detail you can see. In my first pregnancy i was around 6 months pregnant and my last one was later on around 33 weeks (cut off point) as i had chicken pox and had to cancel and make a later appointment. We had ours done with babybond in harley street but it cost over ?100 but you do get a dvd and also photos to take away with you
  7. you could try pefkos in rhodes. we have been there a few times and the last time i went i was 5 months pregnant. The best place to stay is pefki islands resort. It is very clean, has two pools and also a further pool in the resort literally a stones throw away (which you can use). The staff are really lovely and friendly and its about a 5-10 minute walk from all the restaurants/bars (but not close enough where you can hear the music etc). Check out the photos at thomsons website
  8. yeah i heard this as well this morning, thought i was going mad (lack of sleep due to new baby!)
  9. meant to also say i gave birth by c section at 7.59pm on the friday evening!
  10. i was induced at lewisham hospital. I went in on the wed evening but was not started off until the thursday afternoon (think this is normal although they did have 6 others waiting to be induced) so dont expect to be induced the same night. They started me off with the gel (2 lots) then when that did nothing (sorry meant to say i was induced a week early due to the size of the baby) the midwife gave me a sweep. Then after that my contractions started, i had an epidural straight away (sometimes you have to wait a while as they are usually in surgery) then they put me on the drip but i was on the drip for about 6 hours before i demanded a c section as my contractions were not regular. I think it all happened the way it did because baby was not ready to come out a week early.
  11. will be happy to do this let me know when the link is working
  12. unless this dog has been missing for a while, i doubt the owner will claim it considering the state it is in.
  13. you should have told the security guard too as they can keep an eye on him if he returns to the store
  14. is she definitely an outdoor cat?
  15. have you contacted celia hammond for advice? Or contact deptforddiva on here as she will be able to give you advice too
  16. contact deptforddiva on here, she will be able to give you good advice on this
  17. i am 4 weeks post c-section (my first c-section) and i have a 3 1/2 year old. I must admit that i am still getting a few sharp twinges on my left side and i try not to pick my daughter up but like cg, i too must have done too much as i also started bleeding again. I dont think the midwives understand that you cant really take it that easy when you have other kids. My midwife told me it will take about 6 weeks to heal properly.
  18. just wondered if anyone has tried this bottles. My 2 1/2 week old daughter seems to be struggling to go for a number two. We have been using tommee tippee bottles and the aptimal powder for colic/constipation but so far nothing seems to work. Going to try dr brown's bottles as seen they get good reviews for stopping wind etc but just wondered if anyone has had success in using these
  19. just a card from my two daughters....dont want anything like chocolates or flowers.....
  20. Annie456 well it seems like they were correct about my daughters weight as she weighed in at exactly 9lbs which is what they said she would although she doesnt look like it
  21. Just to let you know that our second daughter was born on friday 2nd march weighing exactly 9lb after an emergency c section due to my contractions not being regular even tho i was put on the drip. I have had a hard time as i started losing serious amounts of blood in recovery afterwards so was whisked back into surgery to sort that out. Spent a week in hospital and now thankfully home. thanks to everyone for their advice/comments
  22. also does anyone know why they ask you to go into hospital in the evening when they are going to induce you?
  23. Thanks for everyone's replies. The doctor thinks that the baby's stomach is showing big either because of my high sugar levels or because she has a problem with one of her kidneys which could be causing the stomach to seem large. will let you all know how it went when baby is here
  24. well after going to the docs for final scan, i have been booked in for next wed to be induced. I am a little bit scared as I was not induced with my first daughter and wondered if anyone had been through an induction with a second child and whether they thought it was more painful or if it took long. i have been told our baby could be nearly 9lb at birth and have opted that if i struggle to push baby out and there is a risk baby will get stuck, they will do a c section on me which i am also scared about especially the pain and recovery afterwards. Any advice/tips would be appreciated to help calm me down and prepare myself
  25. it was probably a mistake as a lot of times the shopping from the customer afterwards does sometimes slip onto the shopping at the front so the cashier just scans it presuming its yours. I doubt very much that the cashier was trying some sort of scam, more like a geniune mistake.
