  1. I too am off on a long haul flight to south Africa in September with a 5 year old and an 18 month old. Neither have ever been on a plane before and I am not a great flier (usually resort to diazepam!). My partner has said he has no problem keeping an eye on the kids but I am dreading it
  2. have you tried ginger at all? I used to eat ginger biscuits and found they worked for me. Apparently flat lemonade is good too
  3. I feel exactly the same, mine seems never ending. I am constantly tidying up and cleaning, only for me to leave one room to then come back and it looks like I haven't done it!!
  4. I don't live in Dulwich but I am glad they are doing the rounds. My daughters school has started putting cones out on the yellow zig zags to stop people parking there but instead all they do now is double park which makes the road more dangerous.
  5. You can get taxi's to nearby st pauls bay which is lovely and you can take a boat trip around (they usually have a barbeque on one of the beaches they stop at). Its more of a relaxing holiday but the resort has evening entertainment on too. I guess they charge because a 2 year old would have their own seat on the plane
  6. pefki islands in Rhodes is lovely. We have stayed at pefki islands resort a few times and it is a lovely place. People so friendly, place very very clean, has two pools but you are also welcome to use the pool/facilities in the linda thassalia resort which is just at the end of the road which also has a huge pool. They have a kids club and activities too. Close to restaurants/bars but not that close where you hear them. Have a look at Thomson website as they have a video of the place too
  7. we went straight to bunk beds as our little one is 1 and will be moving into the bunk beds soon. our 4 year old loved her new bed and has slept in it every night with no problems. The problem will be when she moves up to the top bunk when the little one is sleeping on the bottom!
  8. I stopped breastfeeding when my youngest was quite young so I doubt this is the reason!
  9. been to the docs today, she has signed me off work, given me a prescription for some "happy" pills and I also have to go to counselling. Just hoping the happy pills work for me and I start to feel more "me" soon
  10. my youngest turned 1 on 2 march and just lately I have been feeling really low, tired, sad, depressed, not eating, crying a lot for no reason. People are saying it could be PND but I am not sure
  11. Just wondered if any mums on here have suffered with this? Also when does it usually occur? Is it only when the baby is young?
  12. My daughters are aged 4 and 1 and although I would love another one we are not going to try due to me having quite serious complications with the youngest one. If you are financially stable and feel you could cope then go for it
  13. saffron yes my little one had her BCG and she has to wait 4 months before she can have her MMR booster. She was fine with her BCG and at the moment doesnt have the usual blister that comes up but was told if this doesnt happen it means her immune system is high
  14. We have been to Rhodes (Pefkos) which is lovely!
  15. ok so looks like i need to get the BCG done tomorrow and wait a few weeks to get the MMR done
  16. i was told that my daughter has to have the BCG before she is 1. With regards to having the BCG and MMR at the same time, this wouldnt be possible as i have to go to a BCG drop in clinic so wouldnt be able to have the MMR also.
  17. Our little one will be 1 on saturday and I know that the BCG injection should be given to them before they are 1. She is also going to be due to have her MMR injection at the age of 1. just wondered how long i have to wait after one injection before she can have the other one
  18. well i know in my local store there is a security hut in the car park where the security men who look after the car park are based. They are nothing to do with the store security and vice versa. The store security are there purely for the store (not outside)
  19. DJKIllaQueen Do you think by having the security desk nearer to the entrance will mean less thefts? Do you think the security men have time to watch the car park rather than in store? I believe the security men have no control over the car parks, security for the car park is run by a completely different company to those inside the store
  20. MothersInc I had exactly the same with my first. I ended up having to go back for a scan for them to tell me that there was still some placenta left and that it would gradually move its way out on its own. That was after a forceps delivery
  21. please put this in the lost and found section
  22. When my father passed away my brothers kids were there at the crematorium when they scattered his ashes. What my brother did was get the girls to write a message on a balloon for grandad, kiss it and release them into the sky. They seemed to love it
  23. Highland shortbread
  24. my 4 year old daughter still has to do the clean bum test by bending over and asking me if her bum is clean!! Nice!
  25. Pefki in Rhodes is a lovely place, we always stay at pefki island resort, it has two pools plus kids pool, lovely clean apartments within 5 minutes of restaurants (but not so close whereby its noisy!) You can also use the pool/facilities at the resort literally 1 minute down the road. The people that work there are lovely, there is also pool tables, internet etc.
