  2. Hello...a very random post I know, but one of my neighbours has just knocked on my door to find out if I have an electric heater she can borrow...her boiler has broken and she has a little baby (who was also out with her)..her house is freezing. Unfortunately I don't have one, and she hasn't had any luck with any of the neighbours...is there a good samaritan out there who could lend her one (and wouldn't mind dropping it round...nunhead way)...if you think you might be able to help, please do get in touch. Many thanks
  3. Hi there, I used to do this journey quite a bit by car...if you're leaving around 7 or half 7 you should have a pretty easy drive until you hit embankment, it will probably take you around 1.5 hours, but can be pretty variable unfortunately. An alternative is to get to waterloo , clapham junction or vauxhall and take the (slow) train from there...it's a bit less hassle than paddington (and cheaper) if you're prepared to spend an extra 30 mins on the train.
  4. Controversially, can i bring a favourite nunhead/peckham borders brownie-buying spot into the equation? The frog on the green deli does truly A-mazing homemade brownies, cakes (carrot & walnut = my fave) and flapjacks...i get rather over-excited just looking at them through the glass counter..worth a little walk off the beaten track for any true cake afficionado ;) (plus the staff are always really friendly...i should get a free brownie for this, surely)
