  1. Loved There's Going to be a Baby by Helen Oxenbury. Be warned though, it's a tear jerker!
  2. Another vote for Aveeno moisturiser. With my oldest we have never used anything but the little one suffers from dry scaly patches of skin. We don't use anything in the bath, just slather on the Aveeno. Dr happy to prescribe even though he doesn't have excema as such.
  3. That explains it, he was 2 in October. Thanks!
  4. We are with Forest Hill Rd and my 2 year old hasn't been called either. Does anyone know if it's a universal vaccine or just for those considered high risk?
  5. I've got 2tickets for 11 this Saturday if that's any use??
  6. I had awful morning sickness in both of my pregnancies. It is truly awful especially when you have another child to look after. Just wanted to echo etta166, take time off work if you need to. I found tiredness made the sickness so much worse, I almost cried with relief when the GP suggested signing me off work for a few weeks. I was hardly getting any work done anyway with all the dashing to the loo to throw up! Hope you feel better soon.
  7. I have the same age gap. My daughter really liked "There's a House Inside my Mummy" and "There's going to be a Baby", can't remember who write it but beautifully illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, have to admit I shed a tear at the ending every time I read it!
  8. I sympathise, my 2 year old is similar. We have had success in the past with pinning down and squirting into the cheek but near the back, seems to be harder to spit out. Sounds awful but sometimes they really need to take it! Some antibiotics taste worse than others so worth seeing if there's an alternative. Providing a smartie as soon as the medicine is swallowed (and having it visible throughout the process) might help. Good luck!
  9. Reading with interest as this is what I'd planned to get my car mad 2 year old for Xmas. ELC one looks great but huge! Can anyone recommend a smaller one?!
  10. School tights are a pain! Sainsbury's fell down and went bobbly, m&s are better quality but baggy around the ankles, daughter is skinny though so might work better on others. Now researching leggings, you need matching socks though...
  11. I love stuff too...bad isn't it. Not massively into bags though as it's annoying swapping all your things to another bag, easier to have 1. I saw an oven glove I liked in The Transport Museum Shop but I refuse to ask for an oven glove for Xmas!
  12. I can never think of anything when asked! We always get joint presents from parents and siblings, JL vouchers and homewares bit boring. Don't know what to ask from husband this year, I've already had something sparkly I've wanted for ages so I'm out of ideas! Maybe new sunglasses to replace the ones I left at Thomas Land.
  13. I also like the cocoon, really cosy for an autumn baby. My son was pretty big though and outgrew it at about 12 weeks. After that we used a sheepskin liner plus pramsuit and blanket or 2. Was tricky to get him in and out though!
  14. I have a friend who lives in Streatham, we both have 2 year olds. We usually meet in Brockwell Park or Brixton Rec soft play depending on the weather. Then into Brixton or Herne Hill for coffee/lunch while the little ones sleep!
  15. This was my favourite thing to do when my2 year old was a baby. Lovely coffee and pastries and a great opportunity to meet other parents. Highly recommended!
  16. We have JL footmuff for the Bee Plus and it drives me mad. Have one on the Maclaren and it works fine but on Bee the straps are always slipping through the holes and the back slides down as there's nothing that attaches it to the buggy, suppose because it's universal. Could you get a Bugaboo one 2nd hand? My little one is 2so can't really justify buying anymore buggy accessories!
  17. Bloomers is great but I prefer Bravissimo if you can face a trip to town. Like buggie I just wore a normal under wired, one back size bigger throughout pregnancy until I had to wear nursing ones, after that I liked the Anita ones.
  18. Agree with Snowboarder re the p&t. I tried my nearly 2 and 4 year old in My friend's dot over the summer and they fitted in perfectly. They are both quite short but 2 year old is chunky! It was a dream to push and would work well as a single when you needed it. I had an Explorer with a 2.8 age gap, was big but I liked that my lord child could hop in and out of the bottom seat as needed. They both slept in it too!
  19. My 4 year old used to fall off all the time with stabilisers! We took them off and got the balance bike out of the shed where it had been gathering dust. After a about a month on that she wanted to have a go on her bike without the stabilisers, I was surprised how quickly she picked it up. She preferred to ride on the grass and OH ran after her.
  20. I apologise as I know there have been loads of posts on this subject in the past. However a quick search suggests they mostly concern babies and toddlers not 4 year olds! My daughter's eating habits drive me insane. She likes a very small selection of food and doesn't really eat proper meals such as fish pie, lasagne, shepherd's pie, soup, curry, plus cheese, potatoes most sauces are also refused. She will eat fish fingers, sausages, prawns, plain pasta, plain rice, noodles, some vegetables, most fruit, breakfast cereal eggs. The only things she will eat on bread is butter! Doesn't even like cake or puddings much. It makes eating at friends' a bit embarrassing and eating out tricky. I try to stay calm and encourage her to try things. She is actually quite willing to do this, just always says she doesn't like it. I've involved her lots in meal prep which she enjoys but it makes no difference as to whether she eats it or not. Ditto eating with friends. She has just started school and isn't really enjoying the meals there. I'm loathe to give her a packed lunch for various reasons but it might be the next step. What are other people doing about their fussy eaters once they are no longer babies who might be teething/going through a phase etc?? Is it time to make her dinner and not provide any alternative? She is stubborn and would refuse to eat anything I think. Maybe I'm silly but I don't like the thought of her going to bed on an empty stomach. She is small for her age too, so a few nights with no tea would show! Anyhow, tips or sympathy welcome!
  21. Another vote for River Cottage Baby and Toddler Recipes!
  22. Another fan of Aneto! Lovely staff and great food and coffee..

Cover up by all means if you prefer but no one should feel they have to. In answer to the OP I have breastfed pretty much everywhere in East Dulwich and surrounding area and have never had a negative comment. Outside of London there have been times when I've felt a bit uncomfortable though.
  24. We live in a flat withouta tumble dryer and decided that cloth nappies weren't possible, especially at this time of year before central heating goes on but it's not sunny either. We don't have any problems with 2 weeks worth of disposables in the green bin although it isn't much more than half full on bin day. We obviously bag all dirty nappies and take them straight out to the wheelie bin. We don't really buy in bulk either, maybe a pack every week in the usual shop? Less now baby is older. Having said that I do know some people who used cloth whilst living in flats so maybe we are a bit feeble! Plus I know someone who switched to cloth due to disposables leaking which we didn't find an issue. Good luck!
  25. Keeping our daughter in private nursery 3 full days per week worked out cheaper than hoing am/pm sessions at school nursery with a childminder doing the wrap around care (8-9 and 12-5/6). Plus she was settled at her nursery.
