  9. Hi - we have been offered a place for our youngest (18 months) and I wondered if anyone had any recent thoughts if they have a child there? I know there are lots of reviews generally but I saw the nursery around January and it was losing a couple of staff I found very professional and friendly, so would like an up to date viewpoint. Planning on visiting before making a decision but wary as already moved my baby once this year, tho I did like it very much on my first visit. Advice appreciated! Thanks
  10. Polydrons - they are robust magnetic shapes they can make things with. I also have a hyper little boy (now 5) who has loved these since he was about 2 or 3 years and they last, albeit they are pricey.
  11. My youngest is at Bright Horizons and I would highly recommend, the staff there are lovely and my baby boy settled there within a few days... Have also heard good things about Mother Goose and Little Jungle.
  12. Just to recommend the sports / games holiday club at Dulwich Hamlets. Peter who runs it is great and it is very reasonably priced. My 5 yr old loved it (went first 2 wks holiday). [http://www.dhfitc.org.uk/site/NonSecure/index.aspx]
  13. Nimble Arts www.nimblearts.co.uk
  14. My youngest is at Bright Horizons (baby room) and loves it, changed manager last Dec and she is great. Staff are lovely, loads of activities, good food (the chef has worked there for 20 odd years!) and outside space, albeit near the road it has lots of tree cover. I have heard all good things about Mother Goose on Upland Rd and in fact I had my son's name down there too as nr eldest's school. I have not known anyone with a baby at Gumboots but mixed reviews from parents with 2+ yr old children who went there - basic stuff not done, like if socks wet from playing out when wet they weren't changed and therefore endless colds and so on, not great outside supervision on play equipment. You will always find moans and groans, my advice is go off gut instinct! Good luck x
  15. I've got tons of children's books and prob some clothes. Please get in touch to discuss collection. Thx p.s. tried to PM but your message storage was too full! assume you've had lots of interest which is great
  16. Hi, I am trying to find a gymnastics class for my son (aged 5) in term time or at weekends. Anyone know of anything local to ED? Thanks :)
  17. confusedbyitall Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Here is the link - best to call > > http://www.dhfitc.org.uk/site/NonSecure/index.aspx My 5 yr old went to this first 2 weeks of summer hols and had a great time - they do dodgeball, basketball, football, you name it! Plus he went to the cinema, which he loved. Highly recommended!
  18. Dulwich Hamlets do after-school maths & english or football training if of interest? (near Sainsbury's Dog Kennel Hill SE22). Runs 4.30-6pm http://www.dulwichkids.com My son does the holiday club there, run by same guy - Peter - absolutely lovely and well organised. Would highly recommend. 07983 569 190 Peter
  19. Looks great fun :)
  20. I wouldn't normally put a review on here unless VERY impressed by something but I do like the staff at Therapy and go there now and again. I had an eyebrow tint and spray tan (medium - I am very fair usually) with Julia and she was lovely and the tan was fantastic. I have very pale skin and have had bad experiences trying to do it myself or with cream/lotion at a salon before, as my legs tend to go patchy. This cost ?25 and lasted a week. Would highly recommend if you don't want to be the palest on the beach on arrival or have a special occasion. http://hb-therapy.co.uk/ Tel. 020 8693 3773, they're on Melbourne Grove right near East Dulwich station :)
  21. 11am-2pm In aid of Down Syndrome charity Please come along - should be fun!
