  3. And just to thank James Barber for what I think is his biggest achievement - The Dulwich Picturehouse. Brilliant work to get that done, from start to finish. and no catchment area....!

Charter ED is the consolation prize. Anyway - my daughter is happy with SydeNham. Its a good school. Not sure I would even go for Charher ED even if i could.

And would you be able to tell me what proportion of the new "ED Charter" catchment area was not either 1) ED but already in Charter 1 catchment 2) Peckham Rye 3) Camberwell 4) Herne Hill It certainly wasn't a school that PRIMARILY benefitted those in ED who had no Charter option beforehand. EG: Where I live in ED, I have no secondary school availability within 1km of our home and those that are available are not in ED - the new ED Charter wasn't going to change that. But its not a perfect world. Even i can understand that.

Barber in Peckham is ?12, I pay ?15, but at Christmas or if feeling in the mood I pay ?20. It takes 10 minutes on average to cut a man's hair in a barbers.

Real men don't go to hairdressers. So you arent subsidising men.

LL end of Friern Road for example - still have to ship our kids off to Sydenham whilst northern ED and Herne Hill fell into the catchment for both Charters - hooray for them - a choice of Charters for some of ED and still none for others Sorry James, but i think this was a disasterous allocation of additional school places. What was promoted as an additional school for ED was in fact an additioanal school for those in ED who already had one. And yes i did attend the hustings and say eactly this at the time. Don't get me started. :)

And for those making comparisons to the LL store, this one's a simply food, but it's a decent shop for its size, they have packed a lot in.

Well, it's a bit like the Tour de Peckham down Rye Lane at the moment during rush hour, so these cyclists will have to go somewhere and if that includes sharp turns amongst traffic i can see it being dangerous.

  25. You only have to search "Virgin" on this forum to find the many threads over the years bemoaning Virgin and their promises to fix their service in the area, its tiresome I switched to BT two years ago and its much better (Friern Road) We couldn't even download a programme on catch up quicker than we could watch it, Virgin was soo slow.
