  1. As it's his birthday, maybe you could treat him by going to work when your child is in nursery. I'm sure he'd appreciate that. Sorry. Couldn't resist.... :) Franklins does a decent breakfast and you can sit outside the Farm Shop and people watch. That's what I'd do.
  2. Yes - I like Jack Nowell, but he's not Welsh, so can't play.

For all the brilliance of starting the move for that amazing try, and some other breaks shared with Watson, Williams was poor under the high ball from start to finish, and has been throughout the tour. I still think he shouldn't be playing. Specifically he missed the simple catch that lead to the NZ second half try, the one that killed the game. We are missing Rob Kearney and arguably Mike Brown under the high ball. Without an effective high ball catcher, Conor Murray's box kicks are handing over possession to the ABs, chasing those seemed to be William's job last Saturday.

The Irish Shop has been painted white....
  5. I'm in two minds, in a way its a shame that it didn't get a recognisable facelift, but many will like that it retained the old character. I thought the Irish bar manager from the Plough was taking over? If so I'd suggest he will get his staff in order and all will be fine in due course. The food will just be the food you'd expect from MB unfortunately.

I'd say that's not really how it's supposed to work. Pedestrians have right of way, therefore the car should always be ready to stop, you don't have to wait for it to stop, apart from the fact that due to some inconsiderate motorists it's some times wise to do so.

Your right - I never thank drivers :) especially if I think they weren't showing any signs of slowing down until I actually stepped out.

  12. I am always wary of pedestrians who are approaching zebra crossings. Drivers should always slow down on approaching them even if there is no one around. As a pedestrian I often am about to step out but can see that the car won't stop. Running onto a zebra crossing when a car is approaching and not clearly able to stop is very risky. But likewise the car should always be able to stop?

  14. It looks busy tonight!
  15. That's ?80 or more. Naughty.
  16. Clever rat or a Fwit poster.

  19. I think the Addington area has some good public courses too. In terms of members clubs, you should define "quite bad" - if you can play to say a 30 handicap or better you would be happily received at Dulwich and Sydenham. You could play without a member during the week and probably less busy times at weekends, but call in advance to check. But is a different standard to Beckenham.
  20. It seems from the documentary that the game changer in this is that only one accusation is within the 30 years statute of limitations, but for that one he gave a testimony to police in private before charges were dropped on the most recent sexual assault. The victim then filed a private prosecution and gave up her anonymity. Associated Press in 2015 successfully claimed for that testimony to be made available and succeeded. Apparently in the testimony he admitted to drugging women in the past. This should all come out at trial. Many think that his philanthropy over the last 30 years is his way of hedging against, or making some payback (in his own mind) for his earlier demeanours. But it seems that he couldn't keep the old BC from coming out and assaulting one more time and for that reason he's going to feel the full force of the law/public opinion.
  21. 2014 is now 2017 I just watched the documentary. It's very convincing. Sexual assault with drugs. What a nasty piece of work. It seems.
  22. Yeah-that's a shame as Celtic had a good sell on clause

Steven Gerrard now says that should have bought him straight from Celtic. But of course many think Celtic players need a practice run out with Southampton first before being considered for the bigger teams. Van Dijk, Wanyama and Forster were all a steal for Southampton. And the truth is if they can hold their own in the Champions League with Celtic its pretty obvious they can probably manage in the overrated EPL. All three have shown that to be the case.
  25. JohnL I see that you already mentioned This Week - I however had a very different take on it. I think Portillo was supportive and kind, so their interaction may have been as you said - but her interactions with Andrew Neil were embarrassing towards the end. Almost like he was trying to "embarrass" her out of the programme.
