Very little happening in ED after 11. Pubs close at 11, open later Thursday onwards. You might have a small window 10-11 for a drink on a Tuesday.

That's loyalty for you. Hopefully he's not tainted as indeisciplined. The ABs will be pointing out any minor indiscretions to the ref I'm sure/milking any mistimed contact.

I'm not really a bubbly fan, and I'm growing very tired of Prosecco offers. Why do very decent restaurants think it's a worthwhile or generous inducement to offer a free glass of Prosecco. Bottomless brunches, I'd quite like to try, but these are now also coming with bottomless Prosecco. There is nothing I'd rather drink less, than Prosecco. It would put me off my meal. "Free glass of Prosecco" - woohoo. Each to their own.

There you go. Vinopola, I'm surprised. Over the whole tour I'm disappointed for Henderson. I think in future he'll be recognized as top class. Maybe a bit early for him this time.

And to poke fun at Rangers, Paddy Power are paying out on Celtic winning the league :) before a ball is kicked https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1241219/bookmakers-paddy-power-pay-out-on-bets-placed-on-celtic-winning-premiership-title-as-they-poke-fun-at-rangers-european-exit/

I'd be amazed if Vinupola stsrts. He'll be hesitant and the ref will be looking out for him.

Yes - that's funny RD - liked Gary Linekar's tweet too. And more importantly : Celtic push for a review of the competitive/sporting advantage achieved by Rangers through their tax dodging ?We note today?s decision by the Supreme Court. Celtic?s position on this issue has been consistent - that this has always been a matter for the courts of law and also the Scottish football authorities, whose rules are intended to uphold sporting integrity. ?In 2013, we expressed surprise - shared by many observers and supporters of the game - over the findings of the SPL Commission that no competitive or sporting advantage had resulted. Today?s decision only re-affirms that view. ?We are sure now that the footballing authorities in Scotland will wish to review this matter. Celtic awaits the outcome of their review.?

Goal kicking defo - but tackling has been weak so far this tour I thought. I know he has a reputation as a decent tackler, but I'm seeing him being brushed off / dumped on his ass, in Saturdays game I think the combination is the right thing to do - its inventive and attacking. who dares wins. and as AM says SOB will likely be there extra cover.
-
Whoops - I thought he was a 10! Shows how much I know.

Apparently he is, after some googling: good at referring the scrum and then supports the dominant srummaging team through the game, so the early scrums are key, and he tends to favour the defending team at the breakdown, so I'd say there may then be fewer kickable penalties.

Agreed on the exposure of Sexton Farrell - but I'd possibly limit that to Farrell, its Farrell who is the only out of position player. And he seemed weak in the tackle a couple of times on Saturday. His kicking and interaction with Sexton is worth having, and his fast pass, but it's a bit of a gamble. Wyn Jones will start I imagine. The referee will be key. The Dublin game which AM referred to above was thuggish for the first 20mins as ABs laid down a marker after losing in Chicago - the referee allowed it all, high tackles + forearms everywhere. Whether they play within the law on Saturday will depend upon the referee's early calls.

As Kieran Reid said to the ref yesterday, > does that mean next time I've got the ball, if I > jump in the air they can't tackle me? He had to jump to take the pass as it was head height - if he is then tackled low whilst still in the air he's potentially going to topple over head first. As the referee explained, that's why it was only a penalty, no card. I thought it was the right decision. Intentionally jumping before being tackled is another matter - although you do see it sometimes under high kicks where it looked like to catcher jumped just to take advantage of the rules. I don't think that was the case with Sinckler.

I had heard some time ago that the guy from the Plough, Gallagher, had got the managers job. I think he's from Donegal (?) and I cant imagine he'll allow poor service to continue. Good and quick bar services is always expected in Ireland. Having heard these reviews I'm wondering if he took the job or not?
-
Terrible. I agree. I'm hoping he wouldn't be on Edf. But was he drinking Irn Bru when you saw him, or is that a racist reference?

Someone's getting a coating as Micky Flanagan would say.

Robert Poste's Child Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Mick Mac, were you being intentionally sexist? > Sexism - I don't think so - This is the Lounge and I was testing the fairness of some current family situations, where to pick a relevant example, Mum could have five years "off work", until little Jonny goes to school, but the child still gets to go to nursery twice a week, for his development with like minded conversationalists of his own age. Daddy gets to go to work every day. I don't see what's sexist about having a discussion about fairness in modern day marriage. Each to their own of course - work it out yourselves, that's what's important. There is no doubt woman have had a bad deal. But if the pendulum swings far enough then eventually we will need to address unfairness towards men in modern marriage. Will we not.

For me Hansen made a serious jibe at Gatland's patriotism. You know we don't do those sort of things in NZ....which given the respect Hansen has, won't do anything for Gatland's popularity in NZ long term. A Kiwi questioning the ethics of the national team.

If I were the Guardianista of Dulwich Village, I'd go into my garage, and get to work covering over the old "Not in my name" and "Vote Corbyn" signs and reinvent them as "Decent Pub Standards for Decent People", get outside the pub and picket until its sorted. It's more important than world peace.

Not a blame game - but as we can still win, it's worth pointing out what people did wrong as well as right. Cos' Gatland reads the forum and will listen.

Amd he was only on the pitch for about 15 mins at the end of the deisive second test, bleeding, bandaged, possibly concussed. It's a tough school. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2009/jul/26/lions-tour-o-gara-south-africa
