  1. Lived on Overhill Road for 10 years. Very safe no issues. Had more issues on Lordship Lane and towards Peckham. Dawsons Heights is a gem btw. Just have to get beyond the facts it looks like it could be dodgy but it's lovely.
  2. Dave was a lovely guy and did a great job - came back later to tweak a few things as well for free as well - would definitely recommend His number: 07867 974124
  3. ha, indeed! I mean they might offer mediation but they certainly offer meditation!
  4. Oru space have a chatty Wednesday and offer free mediation classes also on Wednesday. Worth checking out for interaction and meeting new people.
  5. To echo another comment, I've heard v good things about Flygerians - yet to go myself but heading down next week https://www.theflygerians.com/
  6. Tonkotsu but in Peckham https://tonkotsu.co.uk/blog/ra-mondays/
  7. Anyone else hearing excessively loud music from Dawson's Heights? Call me lame and a joykiller but wow who ever is playing the music lacks some basic social/community skills
  8. Can anyone explain to me why the council has not implemented any (at least I can't find any) recycling bins on lordship lane? Seems sad given many places to get food and few places to put recyclable items. I've had to take wrapping back home as can find any recycle bins!
  9. There's still a problem with the boiler for both men and women I was this morning
  10. You pay for the slot but you can arrive at any point. I often go at 1245 for the 1200 to 1330 slot. There shouldn't be any lane swimmers when parent and kids are there so if that's the case then raise with mgmt.
  11. I've just been given a penalty charge notice for using a route restricted to certain vehicles on Townley Road Junction Calton Avenue as there's a bus gate. I must have missed this before and indeed I've driven down there many times without having a fine. Has anyone else been hit by this recently? Has this camera just been added and i've been breaking the law all this time?
  12. used to be on the way to Catford but Jerk Valley Of London was incredibly good. Seems to have moved to Bellingham at the Fellowship Inn https://fellowshipinn.co.uk/menus/ - EDIT: Looks like there's a new place called Carribean Jerk Chicken Valley https://caribbeanjerkchicken.com/storemenu - i'll be trying this for sure 🙂
  13. thanks - anticipating mine won't be there then as you'll be getting the early ones I'd imagine. Oh well let's see 🙂
  14. Awesome - when did you request your postal vote? really hoping I see it when i get back this evening
  15. Yeah not received mine 😞 - slightly panicking2. Applied on the deadline day so hoping it comes this week. otherwise i might not be able to vote which would be very annoying
  16. Ha, it's interesting that you think I'm on a quest - sounds fun to be honest.
  17. I do have an issue with that! 😄 Hence why i'm more likely to live in Denbighshire than ED! I guess the point I am making is that it costs London and some - appreciate all food is more expensive recently but find it difficult to pay for what is relatively simple food. Anyway just my opinion 🙂 Chern Thai i'd happily pay for as it seems good price I can work it out thanks 🙂 but still save you money! BanhBanh in Peckham is better value - £13 Pho v £15-£17 in vietflavours - all for new food places but prices need to be competitive and fair. I think i'd go to BanhBanh in Peckham
  18. I do have a slight problem spending £17 for Cơm tấm, given it costs $1.20 in Saigon. Hard for me to square that. The menu does look authentic though but yeah waaay too expensive for me.
  19. I second Deli Twenty Two - Jerk Chicken is awesome
  20. Hi All, I'm returning to East Dulwich in a few weeks and eager to see if anyone is up for a game of casual table tennis - one off or as a weekly thing - i'm a 38 yo male for context I have played for fitness whilst living aboard and my level is ok - but by no means good. If anyone is interested and knows where to play in the East Dulwich area please do drop me a message - any levels is good for me unless you're super good as I will undoubtedly frustrate you with my lack of skill - i play for fitness primarily. Thanks all! Dunstan
  21. Any ideas if something is due to go in it's place? Or is this location doomed for ever? I left the area around june for a few months and used to like having this place closeby :)
  22. Any one else hear it? Second night in a row that music is being blasted out until the early hours.
  23. I remember the days, albeit vividly, when the EDF was good; a place to find interesting debate, what is going on in the local area, alongside various other things of East Dulwich life. It feels like it has started to go downhill in the last few years with ridiculous arguments all over the place. Maybe it's time to take those arguments and meet face-to-face? Maybe over a cheeky half in the Plough? Certainly the EDF is not the place for this. Online has long been a place for people to rant but I thought EDF was above that Somewhat in contradiction, my rant is now over. Nicholas Cage.
  24. Well, I've just wasted 1 minute of my life reading this drivel. The EDF used to be worthwhile & for the community - not a slanging match. Embarrassing
