So it looked 10x as nice in the 19th century as it does now?

Wow look at those prices, 4 shillings for a guiness extra stout, 2 and 6 for Burton's dinner ale. Selling porter in 2 gallon (16 pint?) jars. Delivery any hour and for free? They knew how to live in 1880 by the look of it!

The Post Offices and the Royal Mail should be renationalised. Massive mistake privatising industries where competition doesn't work properly and certainly does not offer any advantage to end users.

Owners of East Dulwich Tavern go into Administration
mrwb replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Probably, though presumably some of them must be losing money, there must be debt to service or other issues to cause the administration. At macro level, there are probably too many similar businesses for them all to survive. I find myself wondering similar about all the cafe's we have now. -

Be very careful about what the estate agent tells you and make sure you independently verify it... They have no obligation to be honest with you..., usually the reverse in fact, they'll often just tell you what you want to hear to get the deal done.
