  1. After school costs are ?10 from close of school until 4.45pm; then I think it is amounts to ?20 (total) until 6pm. There is also a 5.30pm option but can't remember cost. However if you know you always need one specific day you can book at the beginning of term which works out cheaper. Same for breakfast club which I think is approx ?5. I'd give the school a call and ask them.
  2. I went in at 1155 and there was no one there!
  3. In principle I agree - cyclists should not go on the pavement. However, I admit I do occasionally go on the pavement and I would love the "right" solution. I cycle with my 6 year old to school sometimes and have to go down East Dulwich Grove to the village, or alternatively I go down Court lane. I need to be close enough to my son to shout out reminders, to be "aware of cars coming out of drives" "beware of people" etc etc etc ...... and sometimes there is no space alongside the curb because the cars are so close to the pavement. Sometimes you have to go near the middle of the lane if you are going straight ahead at a junction - because if you stay by the pavement you risk getting hit by cars turning left. SO - for those of you who are experienced cyclists or just knowledgeable I would love to hear the solution. Yes, some of us are mummies who do not want to commit a crime,,,,but equally it would be nice for the kids to cycle to school and for me to feel they are safe. And to add to the debate....my husband has a hand bike (he is a paraplegic) and he has experienced much abuse from car drivers about cycling on the road! So who knows what he should do?
  4. Hi We've been to Thailand with both of our children (when my daughter was 8 months and son aged 4) - had a couple of days in Bangkok and then went over to Koh Samui. I love Thailand - have done the backpacking thing and also just normal holidays. Brilliant place with children - people are kind and helpful. You can often get some great deals with Trailfinders - we've ended up with lovely hotels where you buy 5 nights, get 5 nights free. The overnight flight works well......children sleep so less entertaining.
  5. Hi My son goes to a fantastic drop in session at PELO sports ground (Burbage road, SE21 - Gallery road end) on Saturday mornings from 0930-1100. It costs ?5 per child. The coaches are all brilliant and they learn skills and play games. Very muddy. It's finished now for the holidays but starts up again on 12th January. It is run by Kinetic Coaching.
  6. Hi We have lost a jelly cat beige bunny comforter - it has a bunny head and pink / white stripy body. It looks like this: bunny If you find it, please let me know.... Huge thanks
  7. I have just checked on national rail and Forest Hill station is still open. Lots of helicopters over my way (Friern Rd)
  8. I think Whippersnappers does a holiday club but not sure about ages.... There seems to be a number of nannies advertising availability over the summer or maybe there is an au-pair available...
  9. did he have very long ears?
  10. we have a trunki you can borrow. fine on plane!
  11. I 100% concur with all the advice everyone has stated already - my daughter was on 50th percentile and dropped to 9th....and is still there. My son is also on 9th percentile. Both my husband and I are fairly petite. However, my daughter has reflux and we see a private paediatrician at the Portland called Mr Malouf. He is very nice and I can recommend him. I would like to point out that we went privately because there was going to be a 12 week wait for a Kings paediatric appointment and my LO was in so much pain due to the reflux that I couldn't contemplate waiting that long (or cope with her persistent crying). If your child is happy and does not appear sick, then I would potentially wait for the Kings paediatric referral. Good Luck
  12. Hi I'd recommend Alison at the Natural Health Centre on Lordship Lane. SHe is great.
