About a year ago I uploaded all my CDs to the cloud. I now have two boxes full of CDs I no longer use. What can I do with them? I'm conscious that as I still have access to listen to the music, I can't legally sell/donate them (unless I'm mistaken?)
We're having a bit of a clear out & I've got a box of OU module books. Doesn't feel like something a charity shop would want? Is there another option that might be useful to someone?
Julian has just fitted a cupboard, shelves and desk into our box room. He's a great chap who came up with a good design to make the best use of the space, fitted it in less time than he expected & was really tidy while working! Highly recommended! The past few years I've got a few small things from John Lewis, charades, quizzes, etc. Getting the decorations out, we now seem to have a full set, all used about once. Any thoughts on something more interesting?
I don't seem to be able to post in the local trades section, I wanted to leave a recommendation for a local plumber who did some work for us, do I need to do something different?
My wife's parents have a ceramic nut tray, essentially lots of little bowls that fit together to hold different types of nuts. This is usually kept filled throughout the festive period. As we're at home for Christmas this year, I thought it would be nice to have a similar one, but all the ones I've seen online look to be plastic. Any thoughts where I'd get such a thing? R.
My Wife had her engagement ring fixed (one of the claws broke) at a place in Dulwich Village. I can ask the details if you'd like, they may be able to help R.
My Wife's two nieces are visiting this weekend (2.5 & 5 years) We thought we'd take them to the Horniman Museum, but I thought it would also be nice to get a toy or two for them to play with at our house. I started looking at the Toys R Us website & gave up around page 16, so any thoughts of something not too expensive, that they might enjoy playing with for at least long enough for me to have a cup of tea. RE: "Bring the frogs indoors. Set them up with little armchairs in front of the fire, with a decent view of the telly." We have named him Sir Freddie Toad Jr, so that would be appropriate!
The Florence in Herne Hill had a decorated tree up next to the sign 'book now for Christmas'. As to Christmas food, a couple of years ago I used leftovers from homemade mince pies to make a Christmas pudding. Letting it age for an entire year. The recipe said to add brandy occasionally, but it didn't specify how much to use. By Christmas time it was very, very soggy...
There was an article related to this the other day, similar to what you're talking about: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/0ee8990c-76a5-11e6-bf48-b372cdb1043a.html?siteedition=intl#axzz4KsTC5UV7 Might be worth looking at R.
I've got a box of old pots, pans, Tupperware, and some knives, etc. Leftover from consolidating my wife & my homes. All used and nothing expensive, but still serviceable. Seems a shame to put it all in the bin. Ideas welcome! R.
Did anyone else hear a loud bang a 6:55 this morning, seemed to set a number of alarms off as I was walking to the station. Old Camberwell Cemetery area.
