  1. I spoke to the relief postie in our road today. According to him our regular postie is off with Covid, there is not much cover, sorting office is short staffed and the staff are dealing with lots of tracked Covid test deliveries. He didn't think a visit to the sorting office would be productive. Not a very promising outlook.
  2. Sad to report that in our part of SE22 the delivery service appears to have deteriorated. Letters and cards taking ages to arrive, if at all. Several magazines missing along with online purchases. Does anyone know if I can make a trip to pick up post from the Peckham Sorting Office?
  3. Perhaps also post this in the business section with the name of the company in the subject line.
  4. Might I suggest a connection between waiting for the permit and the issues many of us are having with Royal Mail deliveries. These are discussed at length elsewhere.
  5. Disappointed to see that some customers in the Forest Hill Road Coop are still not following the law. I just asked a woman in there why she was not masked and was standing too close. No exempt badge. All I got was abuse. The other customers kept quiet. We need zero tolerance to stop the virus. If she had been smoking in the shop would the staff and customers let her carry on?

  7. Has anyone seen the police stop anyone illegally riding an e-scooter around East Dulwich? There are an increasing number of riders who seem to regard the pavement as their domain and when on the road are a menace to all. Our car was damaged by one a few months ago, luckily the rider was honest enough to pay for the repairs.
  8. Can anyone tell me what advice bus drivers have been given as regards passengers boarding buses without wearing masks. I would also like to know how to report or complain officially about journeys on which there is widespread non compliance. I have just had a bus journey on which a good 25% of the passengers were not even pretending to wear a mask. It didn't feel safe and unless there is active enforcement or the offenders catch the virus and get ill or infect their loved ones I don't see their behaviour changing.

  10. We have just been for a daily walk. Saw a full on game or perhaps training session in Peckham Rye Park. Contact tackling etc, at least 20 players in training bibs, others watching.I am sure this is against all Covid19 advice and guidance. Presumably whoever organised this doesn't care.No sign of police. Have the authorities given up on social distancing? I don't want to be a killjoy but this felt irresponsible.
  11. Hi We needed some internal plaster repair/replacement to one of window bays. We found Gary through the forum. He responded quickly, gave us a sensible price, and managed to fit in doing our relatively small piece of work around larger projects. The job included removing the plaster, sealing the exposed brick, replastering/skimming and then lining. Gary and his mate Darren did a good job and always left the place clean and tidy. They left the bay lined and ready to re-paint. Next time we need anything similar doing we will contact Gary. Recommended.
