  1. Only flights into city airport today. They're fast and only every ten mins hardly noticeable. Unlike the Heathrow ones. If only it could be like this every day. :(
  2. Yep f##ing makes me so angry! There's really no need for Heathrow air traffic control to send every plane over the same for path they could easily spread them over a wider area and make our lives more bearable.
  3. His experiences come closer to what I've lived through than Bob's.
  4. Bob WHY What business is it of theirs what I do with my home? As pousthewinercat explains it's others who feel they have a right to dictate to neighbours. Doesn't make any sense it's busybody interference. You supporting that position doesn't make any sense I bet you'd be the first to get annoyed if someone else told you what you can and can't do when you have a document confirming exactly what you can do!
  5. No My property -1 Other people telling me what to do with my property -0
  6. Property prices cooling down all over London estate agents are twiddling their thumbs and the phones are not ringing. Doesn't look good.
  7. The fact remains there's absolutely no requirement to tell your neighbours anything and time moves on everyone is becoming more interested in what others are doing and everything is visible online everyone is subjected to scrutiny and that results in specialist oversight. How far will it go I have sympathy with anyone who wants to improve their home and lives next to busybody luddites.

Yes it's a pretty dull forum.
  9. Yes *Bob* strange because they do strange things That's what I though you have no experience
  10. *Bob* Jeremy have you had actual experience of doing any of this? I have, I totally disagree there is no need to consult your neighbours it could backfire much better to just deal with the planners let your architect deal with the planning, avoid all communication with neighbours point them towards the council. If not you will do is inflame the situation. That's what happened to us now I would never discussing anything with any neighbours what business is it of theirs? If I had my time again and they ask what I'm doing I'd say ask the council planning department and leave me alone and when it comes to the actual building work let them deal with the builders and the inspectors etc .. Neighbours are nothing but trouble. I would now never advise opening up to the stranger?s next door complete madness. Learned our lessons the hard way never again
  11. No one steams in on planning they apply then the council send out letters to neighbours and then the council place a sign on a lamp post to let everyone else know. it takes 8 weeks to get a planning decision so everyone concerned gets a chance to have their say. I'm sorry *Bob* what on earth are you talking about?
  12. What NO there is no balance to be struck. If you've got planning then you just do what you're allowed to do. Why on earth would you do anything different to suit your current neighbours who could move the day after you've finished. Affluent young professionals it could be some old couple who've won the lottery :)
