  1. Hi all Considering getting a silver cross surf buggy and wondered whether anyone had one and recommends it? Big query for us is the lack of storage - is this really an issue in people's experiences (we're first timers and new to all these practicalities!)? Any ideas for getting round storage limitations - eg I think a rucksack hung under the seat might work but not certain? Alternative is the mamas and papas sola - does anyone rate this one? Thanks and grateful for views/advice, Em
  2. Hi all. Just found this string and I'm a first timer too! Due early April - team blue! Keen to meet you all so will def be there on 14th - I'll be the one with the big belly ;)
  3. Pablo -sounds like a great idea - I like it but I guess if I relied pricing wise in large groups only the I may struggle to line up 20 plus for a film. However, how about using edf to put films to a vote and get groups together - that could work... If you can byo and it's comfortable, good sound etc then I'd have thought ?5-8 would work ( would that pay for the setup?)- I've always found odeons etc criminally expensive. Al
  4. Possibly in the woodvale area? I have long distance mail for him...
  5. NCT do an evenings class in West Dulwich - there's an intake starting next week
  6. Snowchains in the boot Sean - keep the nation moving and all that - parties to stock the house up for!
  7. Sydenham sainsburys is absolute gridlock - took half an hour to get out ofthe carpark. Roads better as you get to forest hill station though
  8. Thanks - they can expect a card in the morning!
  9. Anyone know (or are!) the above - I have a card for you delivered to my address with no return address! Al
  10. All southern trains are suspended until at least 10am according to their website - then they'll start running metro services (assume we fall under 'metro'?).
  11. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/download/4457/dulwich_park According to this there are several specific dog exercise areas dotted around the edge of the park - surely these are the designated off lead areas, and everywhere else is technically on lead - mind you on the park homepage it suggests dogs should be exercised only at the north en of the park, so not entirely clear.
  12. I'm pretty sure you're right pb - dogs need to be on a lead all round the perimeter road etc by my reading of the rules - but it's not particularly adhered to.
  13. What became of the squat - anyone know how it ended?
  14. Pasting it into a word doc usually works. Al
  15. I'm with voda and generally ok, though on wood vale it's a bit iffy on geou d floor. Solution is one of those signal boosters ( sure signal?) which work a treat and they gave me free with new contract
  16. I was thre on a Sunday evening at quiz time a month or so back, but it was pretty lonely! No sign of the quiz happening, and reckon there were only about 6 other souls there. Which may have triggered the quiz being cancelled come to think of it..>!
  17. Or you could trawl the streets to find the numberplate which should be on the disc? Depends on how bored you are!
  18. Twas on corner of Underhill and Lordship I believe - they turned our water off for a good deal of Sunday night...\!
  19. Is the beer free or do they charge?
  20. I just keep having near misses avoiding the dogs while on the bike, and trying to work out if I'm in danger of being the one in the wrong - interested to know where I stand if I don't skid to a halt in time.... I do subscribe to the 'rub along' theory Sean.

  22. Two hazards in Dulwich Park which all of us probably come up against, and a good few of us are probably directly involved in - would be interested in general opinion: 1 - Cycling fast. Technically I suppose cyclists in the park are supposed to observe the speed limit (5mph?) but that's actually really slow on a bike - is cycling faster than that wrong? 2 - loose dogs. According to park rules dogs are supposed to be on a lead at all times unless in a designated dog exercise area (dotted around the park but never on the main carriageway). Clearly almost no-one does this - fair enough or a downright danger to the (possibly speeding...!) cyclists / rollerbladers etc when they lurch in front of the bikes? 3 - Those little yellow recumbent buggys they rent out. The amount of times I've been taken out by those things swerving like on a slalom course for no apparent reason. This one's just a moan really - but do they leave anyone else downright scared of overtaking them? Al

  24. I'm not a fan as such, but Papa Johns do deliver and recently dropped a flyer through my door. I'd probably go with Firezza..
  25. I'd say so - usually only publishers give advances on a book that hasn't necessarily been written....
