  1. Good idea Convex! Might try that instead, thanks!
  2. I'm thinking about buying my 3.5yr old a balance bike but have seen these adaptable Little Big Bikes (https://www.littlebigbikes.com) which are balance bikes that pedals can be added to later. Just wondered if anyone has tried them, any thoughts? I'm being a bit lazy/tight perhaps but not sure I want to buy a balance bike then have to buy a pedal bike within the next year if he outgrows the balance bike/gets the hang of it and wants to progress to pedals... Thanks!
  3. Hi, welcome to East Dulwich! Take a look at St Mary's in Nunhead. I'm a SAHM in East Dulwich too. I have a 3yr old and 1yr old and like you wanted somewhere my eldest could go for some independent play for a couple of hrs in the morning, without a huge waiting list. My 3yr old has been going to St Mary's since January and I think it's great. They only take children from 2 upwards and it's very play focussed and the ladies there do some lovely things with the kids eg baking, arts and crafts, visiting nursing home nearby. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
  4. I had a Jaflong curry and went into labour about 6hrs later with my first. Probably a coincidence but I say anythings worth a try!
  5. You can also order from Amazon.com to be delivered direct to them to save on the shipping costs. Not sure if they have a gift wrap option though...
  6. GillianHG I think we must have been in the same Autumn bumps group as my second is also 2 in October. Unfortunately, I lost touch with everyone from that group as I found it tricky to get to all the meet ups with my toddler in tow, but it will be nice to see a familiar face! Congrats to you and all the other mums to be!
  7. Hi, I'm Gemma, due with my third on 26 January. My eldest turned 3 about a week ago and my youngest will be 2 in October so I'm looking forward to the chaos that awaits having 3 aged three and under! Afraid I can't make the August date but will try for the September one. I'm a SAHM so pretty flexible if anyone wants to meet up during the week (though I'll have the two boys in tow), weekends are sometimes a bit trickier. Congratulations to you all, I hope you are all feeling well and look forward to meeting you soon x
  8. Thanks for everyone's messages, really appreciated! Now the whole idea has sunk in must say we are feeling less terrified and very excited for the future and the whole new level of chaos that awaits! X
  9. Thank you all very much for your lovely messages, we're (well at least I am) feeling a lot more positive about everything. Like you say I guess we need to be a bit more realistic about what can be achieved with three at home and give the housework a miss every now and then. Lesley1980 your friend is amazing (or totally bonkers!) I can't even imagine how long it takes her to get 6 under 7 out the door! It takes me 30 mins just getting 2 toddlers out! Thanks again to you all! X
  10. I've got two kids - the eldest will be three soon and the youngest is 18months and we've just found out I'm pregnant again. It wasn't planned. We always wanted more children but ideally would have waited a bit longer. We're both feeling a bit overwhelmed with the news really and I wanted to ask - has anyone else been through this? How did you make it work? I'm just imagining complete chaos with three children at home (I'm a SAHM) and my family are over an hour away so we get very little help from anyone. It'll be alright though won't it?!
  11. Also recommend crumbs and doilies, amazing cakes!
  12. My brother is a blacksmith and made ours, obviously a bit biased, but he's very good and you can choose any design - www.yaldingforge.com.
